What a great album... One of the best I've heard in a long time (U2 - The Joshua Tree for the topic-impaired)

Anybody else's thoughts?

Unfortunately, I was 6 in 1987... Plus, when I started listening to music grunge was in so I think I have a little bit of an excuse. But it's still a great album. It doesn't sound at all dated despite being 15 years old.

Rattle and Hum was their last good one. It's hard to say which was their best. The Unforgettable Fire was very good also. I'd say it's a toss up between UF and JT.

I would have agreed with you up until 2 years ago, then All That You Can't Leave Behind came out. While not quite as great as their older stuff, it comes dang close. They've dropped a lot of the pretentious electronica that was so present on Pop and Zooropa.

I'll have to check that one out. I haven't payed any attention to them since Achtung Baby.

It is still good after 15 years because over the past decade music has gone down the crapper. Well except for perhaps a select few. U2 being one of those few that still make great music.

Sigh.

I graduated from University the year Joshua Tree came out. I started listening to them when Boy came out.

I've seen them in concert about a half-dozen times. They're a great band.

It seems to me that half the songs on JT are awesome, and the other half I can't remember.

Wow, what a great album! One of the best I've ever heard. It came out while I was in High School, and it has stood the test of time like so many other albums have not.
I need to get it out and listen to it. Thanks for the reminder! :)

Mysterious Ways was my favourite song in grade 7 (1994). I started liking U2 because of Achtung Baby, then really became a fan after hearing the Joshua Tree.

I really love the songs on October too. Very underrated album IMO.
