I have to say, it would have been awkward all around if the super bowl would have had to have to have been rescheduled. I appreciate nation states taking appropriate measures to ensure the travels of Taylor Swift go unimpeded. It is the least she deserves.

Because Japan is a democracy and her legions of fans in Japan asked their government to make it happen?

The government exists based on the consent of the people, its source of authority is the people, and its authority is not legitimate if it disregards the will of the people. Government is expected to serve the people, who have the true sovereignty, the supreme power, and consent to give it to the government.


In short, a whole lot of people wanted it, the rest didn't care, the action costs almost nothing, so the nation state acted.

There is also Kansas City, Kansas. The city straddles the border. Granted, Arrowhead Stadium is on the Missouri side, but the New York Jets' stadium is in New Jersey.

Edit: Or maybe we're thinking back to when the Chiefs used to be more of a Kansas team because Missouri had the St Louis Rams?

I was simply responding to a poster who referred to them as "Kansas". No one in the U.S. calls them that, except maybe Trump.
