Russia launched the Zarya module (also known as the FGB) back in November of 1998.

We've had a continuous human presence in space since November 2 2000.

She's still got another 8-12 years left in her.

Crazy that everyone once in a while I can see it fly overhead with the nekid eye.

After one ISS assembly mission ended I caught the ISS, Space Shuttle which was leaving and an arriving ESA ATV all flying in a row one night. It was a pretty cool sight.
