The iPod....

Does anyone have the iPod? It has to be one or is the best MP3 player out there IMO, even at the lowest model, it's $300 for 5GBs of storage of music (not to add another mode where you can actually use the mp3 for storing files and transfering it through files)
Does anyone have the iPod and what are your opinions? I'm planning to get mine REALLY soon 🙂

It is simply the best money I have spent. I used to listen to my CD player in the car ... but would only carry a few with me at a time (too bulky to carry around my entire collection). Now I can carry arround 100+ CD's, plus various MP3's that I've got. I could not have been happier with my purchase.

Do you plug it into your speakers or what?

In the car? Yeah, right now the car I'm driving only has a tape player so I just use my old tape adapter from my CD player and it works like a charm.

When I'm not in the car, I use my Grado SR-80's to listen to it.

<edit: There are adapters to play the iPod though your radio if you have a CD player in your car. Also, in the 3 months that I've owned one it almost never leaves my side. At home, school, or in the car it is either in my pocket or sitting in my lap. The only time I don't have it on me is when I'm at work and I have to lock it up in my locker.>

Its a very versatile player and the only problem with it is its expensive. There are loads of add-ons available that keep driving the cost up even more.

Still, I think its good, better than most if not all other mp3 players out there. I don't think its a good as so many reviews make it sound though...

It really is though. The ease of use, the speed of transfer, the small size, the features it's got. Yeah, it's overpriced ... but honestly that's it's only downside (well, IMO of course). Until you can actually get your hands on one and use it for a while, you just don't know how great it is. I must have read a hundred reviews and looked at a thousand pictures, but until you actually use one you don't understand how spot on those reviews are.

Ditto.

Its too big. My walkman is *BARELY* bigger then the size of an MD in its case😀. Its very light 89g, has a remote with back lit lcd😀 and plays for 20hrs on its own and has an external battery compartment that makes it 72hrs😀

<-- wants 256mb MS walkman with inline remote and 20hrs battery time or NetMD with usb2😀

i supose its great but be more economical to get a nomad for 100 (if u got the deal) and a pair of grado's still come out like half of the price.

Too big to run with? That's the only reason I'm considering getting one (wish they weren't outrageously expensive though).

Its too big and same with the weight. It will pull your pocket down too much. I don't like that.

As for running its not a solid state memory so it will skip when it runs out of *ram buffer* that it stores its music in. It will have to empty it and get more. I would think this but I've not actually tested this out on an ipod.

I got one today. I traded a 8x CD-Burner and $50 for it. I need more rich friends that love old technology.

i wish my friends would do that for me. i've been itching to buy an ipod (primarily cuz of it's size). but there's always that pesky lack of funds.

if you want something to run with a solid state mp3 player or an armband walkman is best

Use Ephpod - it's free and much cleaner and easier to use than MMJB. You can actually just uninstall MMJB.

Ehhh... how was I owned? It's just my opinion vs. his, it's not like we're debating facts. Either way MMJB blows, definetly use EphPod. As for the buffer on the iPod - it's 32meg's, I haven't had it skip on me yet while jogging/running.

I've heard the 10 and the 20gig version could skip if you run w/them but the 5gig version is rock solid.
