"The iPod is perfect for virtual shoplifting."

bwhaha, that's ingenius 😀

<< Webb watched the teenager copy a couple of other applications. He left the kid to find a CompUSA employee. "I went over and told a CompUSA guy, but he looked at me like I was clueless," Webb said. >>

Oddly enough I have seen this exact look on a CompUSA employees face.

iPod seems pretty sweet, free software and listen to MP3s. But of course actually finding a store that has a Mac running, is a different story entirely. 😉

<< Dennis Lloyd, publisher of iPod fan site iPodlounge, also said this is the first time he'd heard of an iPod put to such use.
"I can see how easy it would be to do," he said. "It's a shame someone has stooped this low to bring bad press to the insanely great iPod."

did anybody else see this quote? what a retard, i'm sorry, but i don't think this was called to attention in order to weaken apple or the ipod.

<< I never would have thought of that. >>

well, i had similar thoughts about minidisc... you could just go into any record store, plug it in to their listening stations...

yeah, but that would take considerably longer and you are still essentially pirating music. i believe i read some people doing this on minidisct.com forums.

yea the time was the only downside i could find.... essentially? you *are* pirating music!

Me neither, but that's what kinda makes it genius 🙂 And no, I don't condone piracy, just thinking outside of the box.

You can drag and drop installed software? In Windows, you have to download all the files it installs onto the windows/system directory. I guess MAC is made easier.

The article says that the version of office for mac is installed by dragging and dropping the office folder to the mac's drive. MS did that so the average mac user wouldn't have trouble with installation.

<< LOL .. funny story >>

definately. but i still want one. they look cool and play mp3s. that's all i need. damn macs. they need to make this windows compatible. they'll sell more.

LOL...so what are you saying?

I laughed my a$$ off when I read this..I just pictured the guy standing there his jaw dropped in amazment and then running to an employee pulling on his shirt and pointing over at the kid furiously and the emplyee just standing there with a "wtf are you talking about?" look on his face.

Priceless

That guy has balls of steel to just walk in, plug in, and download.

He gets my respect for that part, but I gotta give him a mushroom stamp for not checking to see if anyone was looking first.
