The iPhone is basically = Star Trek PADD

For all intents and purposes, the iPhone pretty much does everything a Star Trek 24th Century PADD is shown to do.

Anyone else think this is pretty cool? We don't have hyper drive yet, but we have ST handhelds. heh.

Eh true. Didn't really want to turn this into a fanboi war...

I think my main point is that its cool that in the last couple years we have finally reached an era of big color touch screens running on snappy processors in a handheld form factor.

The iphone is one of the better examples of that. I have owned SEVERAL Palm and PocketPC based machines before, and none are as smooth of an experience -- they all lag or crash in a manner that has disturbed me.

OK... does this mean that we should be seeing the Apple "iTransporter" and Apple "iWarpdrive" sometime soon? Screw the new Nano... I want one of THOSE for Christmas!
