I mean, it's on the Internet, right? So, it has to be true:

Seriously, it's been nice to knowing most of you. Well... some of you are total jerks, but at least rest of you folks are cool and I'll miss arguing about stupid stuff like Bitcoin and Teslas with you!

Yep, the Bezosaur is displeased with our mockery of His Shiny Baldness' trip to space, so he's taking away the internets so we can think about what we've done to him.

Honestly, I think I'd be ok with that at this point. Seems like we weren't ready for the internet.

Speaking of the end, what ever happen to running out of IPv4? Are companies just selling ranges to each other now?

I believe so. A bunch of older Fortune 500 companies have their original /8 subnet assignments, so they still have tons of addresses to spare.

We did and basically:

There is still enough for the secondary market but it's getting more expensive, at least until IPv6 supplants it more

Don't forget Universities and the government. I know a few higher Ed places that give everyone public IP addresses. They can hand out a couple hundred thousand or so public IP addresses without batting an eye

Bummer... I was hoping Seattle was going to disappear from the Internet for a few days.
