The entire thing is being super slow today. I've seen complaints across lots of forums too.
I had a hard time loading this page.

It's North Korea stealing the internets out of the wires in the Pacific.

So one person is having issues means the "internet is dying!"?..,hardly, everything is working fine here, I'm streaming an NFL game and have 4 more tabs open all working and loading fine, try a modem re-boot or closing and re-opening your browser before the "internet is dying!" crap, kinda makes you look dumb, 'ya know..

Your ISP may be doing maintenance and upgrades on a day when lots of people are traveling and won't notice.

Mine is fine on the west coast

Not mine. For years now, I get errors whenever I try to make a thoughtful and helpful post. No issues when I give up and post crap though. Go figure.

Sorry. Didn't mean to imply your post sucked. I was poking fun at my own normally shitty posts.

I noticed for a few seconds a while ago my internet crawled to a slow down, but it could have been something to do with the fact that I was screwing around with my network, or some kind of random glitch. Oddly, I did a speed test during that time and still got 50/30. So really not sure what it was about but it did not last long enough to be a bother.

Well if it aint the network, I'm guessing you got a slow IDE HDD.
Grab an 80MB SCSI for your boot.

Surprised you can get 50k out of that modem, I've never gotten that close to theoretical.

Hmm, TigerDirect.com wasn't loading for me earlier tonight, and the skinning on my internet radio player wasn't loading immediately either.

My internet is slow, but that's because I'm using 1x1 .11g with a 10yr old wireless adapter that's got to reach through 4 walls, a floor, and some concrete...and the adapter is also searingly hot (I super-glued some aluminum to it, but not enough).

I found if I stand there and blow on it really hard for a long time it cools enough to get a better signal and run faster, but only as long as I keep blowing on it.

If you live in ST LOUIS then that is why your internet is slow because map.ipviking.com shows St. Louis being bombed by DDOS attacks since last week.

The internet has been dying for decades.

The pure anarchy of the early/mid 90s is the high point of the internet.
