Because people are idiots. They're most likely searching for it using Google as well.

How many people were still on a 56K modem in 2002? I sure as hell wasn't.

I read somewhere that "Google" is like the #3 Google search term.

If it's not in your list of visited sites and you just type "google" into the URL bar in Chrome or Firefox intending to go to google.com, it takes you to Google search results.

i decided to visit their website (whoever made that gif) and it says

Creating an informative, easy-to-use, and beautiful educational website is difficult.

no shit, their site is awful. at least it doesn't have any embedded midis.

No idea where their browser stats come from. Stats I've seen have Safari at anywhere from 6 to 15% (depending on which sites), and Opera at like 2% at the most.
