Other than it being a 17inch screen and Pentium M, the rest is all the same- I'd still love to get one though. I wonder what kind of battery life it gets compared to the 9100.

With a screen that size, I doubt that its much better than what the 9100 gets. Maybe it'll get 2 hours to the 9100's hour and a half.

I'll have you know that a battery miser like myself can squeeze out a full two hours on a 9100.
I personally think my 9100 is better. It comes with a WUXGA as opposed to an XGA LCD, and the smaller screen is, for me, only a plus-17" is too big to fit in ANYTHING. It's more expensive, and the battery is smaller-I believe the stock one is only 6 cells, but even if it's 9 you still would'nt get terribly good battery life.. If it were'nt for the decent graphics card and enormous LCD, it does'nt have any features that make it better than the old 9100.
If you really need anything with an LCD this big, go for a Toshiba.

Dell Inspiron 9200 review

The Inspiron 9200's performance, overall, was very good, thanks to the processor. Most notable, however, was its BatteryMark score, lasting 4:59 (hrs:min). This is practically unheard of in this class of system, where 2 to 3 hours is the norm.

What config did you get?

Did you notice that to upgrade to the 9 cel battery it cost $99

But to just buy an extra battery and make it a 9 cel, it cost $129

In other words you can have both the 9 and 6 cell battery for $129, or just the 9 cell for $99.

I'm assuming the 4+ hr battery life in the pcmag review came from the larger batter....

I just went with the basic config.
They gave me 1500 to shop with.
I already have a GB of ram and a 60GB 7200 Hitachi I'm going to put in into it.
I also have an external dvd burner and a 160GB drive.

I just noticed that the price went down $50.00.
I'm going to call Dell and request that $50.00 be knocked off the cost of the 9200.

Did they knock off $50 don66?

I've got a nicely configured system for $1500 after my 25% off coupon. Expires tonight and can't decide if I should "pull the trigger"

No, I spoke with a person that could hardly speak english.
I plan on trying out live support.
Maybe, they can type English better than they speak it.
I still plan on getting the laptop anyway...
