The common guy thinks that 1 gig = 1000 megs, right? Technically, wrong. In Winders, 1 gig = 1024 (point somethin-sumthin, 'cause the same rule applies w/ megs & kilobytes...) megs, so thats why when you see 80 gigs on the raptor's casing, it actually equates to ~74 gigs in Windows. It's the same for everyone else, I.E. when I say my poor, lame ass has three 40 gig hard drives, I actually mean my even lamer ass actually has three 37.2 gig hard drives.

Finny, I think we all know about the 1024 size from years ago, and that you dont get 100gigs from a 100gig HD. I was wrong, he was right. I never heard of the 80gig Raptor. Looks to be by Dell only? In any case, I was wrong about the size, and pie on my face.
