The Incredible Hulk flying under the radar?

The sequel to the Hulk, called The Incredible Hulk, will be released on June 13th.
With an excellent actor like Edward Norton in the title roll, and Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt and Robert Downey Jr (playing his Iron Man movie persona of Tony Stark).
I have heard virtually nothing about this movie. I thought the first movie was very bad, but the Hulk effects great. I am looking forward to this one.

This technically isn't a sequel. More like a redo. Everyone at Marvel realized how horrible the Ang Lee version was and basically disowned it and said "Let's try this again."

WTF Ed Norton and Tim Roth! Two of my favourite actors, plus William Hurt! How the hell did I not know about this? Shame about the director, but if he can make it a little darker as he said he wants to, that would be a good thing.

i've heard about it, my first thought was groan...another remake, can't Hollywood come up with new ideas? Last year was all sequels too. I'm sick and tired of this crap!!

I thought the first was pretty underwhelming. I want a big hulk vs. monster fight in this one that destroys a bunch of city blocks.

I actually loved the first Hulk movie, mostly because the comic style cells were pure genius. I can also see why people disliked it so much; not enough Hulk SMASH! and wreckage, etc..

I am looking forward to this do-over though, it's actually being talked about quite a bit on various messageboards and what-not. This version of the Hulk looks a lot leaner than the first iteration though, and the new Iron Man movie has potential tie-ins already to the Hulk franchise.

Now if they could combine the Incredible Hulk played by Norton and Iron Man played Robert Downey Junior, that will be pure money and I would definitely be there.

The Hulk fought the Fantastic Four on numerous occasions in the comics.
I always enjoyed that particular matchup.

During WWH he smashed the Fantastic Four like chumps. Two-shotted Invisible Woman's forcefield, smashed Thing like nothing and took a full blast of "nova flame" from Human Torch and shrugged it off. If they could ever do something as epic in scope with Hulk as the "Planet Hulk" storyline, it would make hundreds of millions. That storyline was truly epic in scope, but the structure and history isn't there right now to do something like that in Hollywood.

I believe the villain is supposed to be The Abomination. That should be a pretty massive fight.

It was cool... but the damn thing drags ON AND ON... They could cut about the last half hour up and make an ending that ties it all up, it'd be mounds better. But essentially the plot of the movie isn't well established until too far in to the movie, and then the plot changes again and sucks.

Like.. (SPOILERS)... first off you think it's just going be Hulk vs. all the tanks and choppers trying to shoot him up and capture him, then it just kinda changes to the Hulk's dad using his caused-by-radiation powers to try and take over the world or something stupid like that. Had they taken out the part about his dad, it would have been much better. Also, it was made in a time where there was still such a thing as "horrible CG" and this was some of it. Hulk had crappy textures and bad lighting, and just looked drawn on screen at some points.

I thought the final fight was awful even beyond the bad CGI. You couldn't tell what the hell was going on. It would have been bad even with good CGI.

I wasn't interested in this movie until I heard Ed Norton is going to be in it, he's one of the best actors out there.

I don't understand why they're "re-doing" it already though. The Eric Bana version is like 5 years old. Hasn't exactly been as long a time as it was with Batman. With Batman it was definitely time for a redo, and Batman Begins was awesome. Don't remember the first Hulk movie being that bad either, it was probably mediocre at best, but that's about what I'd expect from a comic book movie.

Part of the reason is because they are working toward an Avenger's movie. Samuel L Jackson is supposed to make an appearance as Col. Fury and I think Downey Jr. as well.

From imdb's FAQ page:

Is this movie a sequel or a remake?

"It is a reboot, with no connection to Hulk '03 (similar to Batman Begins). The original script, by Zak Penn, intended "The Incredible Hulk" to be a sequel to Ang Lee's "Hulk", but Penn left the project in early 2007 and the script was redrafted by Edward Norton, retconning a new origin and removing any connection with the previous movie."

The script was redrafted by Edward Norton? Really? He doesn't strike me as a comic book guy, but I guess I'm wrong about that. Hopefully it's better than the last one.

I like every movie I've seen where Ed Norton plays a creative role. American History X being perhaps the most famous example.

I liked the original hulk. Mostly because they showed the hulk as being super powerful like he is in the comics and not just a guy who can throw people a few feet like in the show. I also thought Bana did a good job capturing the general feel of banner.

What a cast! Edward Norton and an appearance by Iron Man? I'm definitely seeing this one 🙂

EDIT: I also can't wait for the Iron Man movie....Robert Downey Jr. was born for that role

to be fair during WWH it was a special situation. he was beyond pissed off (as you know the madder he gets the stronger he is).

but yeah if they made a movie based on WWH that would be amazing. but they won't. just because he defeats EVERY hero in the marvel universe without much effort.
