I know this response may tread a little of from the original purpose of this thread, but I really want to ask this. Why can't the US stop trade completely with China, and put all those volumes distributed selectively to other countries. For example:
*Tea and clothing from India
*Fish from Bangladesh
* Car parts from Japan, South Korea, and Germany.
* electronic parts from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
* Cookies from Denmark, Nederland, Sweden, Great Brittan, and Mexico.
* Pots and pans from Mexico and India.
* Paper/notebooks made in India or Mexico.

Why not start a new thread?

lol, that was like watching a Disney-produced documentary of "How become president" ...like an episode of the Bachelor or something, pure reality smooze....and you know it had to piss off Trump. hahahahaha.

I watched bits and pieces, Tom Hanks, Springsteen, then drifted off to watch Godzilla for about an hour, for some reason??? I really did.

...then the Katy Perry and Fireworks over the mall and WH balcony shot, lol. I'm about 3 miles north of the mall, and once I realized what was happening, I had actually just flipped back to the coverage, I muted the TV audio of the event, and I was getting the noise from the fireworks about 20-30 seconds later. It was pretty awesome. They were...very lots and lots of them. I didn't have a high enough vantage point, and it's all trees and local light pollution anyway, so I couldn't get anywhere to really see them, but I liked getting the ~measurable light speed--via TV, vs sound speed--background outside the house, live comparison effect, to a very big thing that was happening at that moment. It was pretty awesome, lol.
Loved every moment of it

I don't know if anyone else had this observation, but I thought McConnell looked very bad and feeble yesterday at his gift presentation to Joe. I mean physically bad. After he gave his remarks he walked the six feet or so back over to Elaine and it seemed to take him forever. I’ve seen that kind of walk before and it’s by older people in bad health.

Was just about to say it produced one of the odder-titled stories of this election.

Yeah, don't know her well but that sounds like her I guess. She loves being a teacher, and is great at it. Maybe turtlefur or the etsy folks will jump on it, roll out a Bernie line.

I liked how when the feed I was watching for the inauguration got to Brooks singing Amazing Grace, at mention of "a wretch like me..." the camera panned over and focused on Mitch.

I'm accustomed to him looking like a bloated corpse, didn't notice or see his walking.

Yeah, it'd be a real shame for this corrupt confederate fossil to finally check out. I'm gettin misty.

Doesn't Govenor Beshear get to name his successor if that blessed event were to happen?

Saw a picture of him in the last day or so looking as if he was having serious trouble standing. Leaning on something with his left hand and her holding him up by the right arm.

Thought it was just a weird picture, but now that you mention it ...
