A documentary centered on a young Frenchman who convinces a grieving Texas family that he is their 16-year-old son who has been missing for 3 years.

Strangest true story I ever watched. I am surprised he was even able to do it. Stupid people.

Texas?
I assume the inbreeding left the couple without the ability to discern their child from a stranger?

Once you 'meet' the family, you're not surprised. The sister says that Spain is 'on the other side of the country' and can't believe that they have Coca-cola when she arrives there.

There is a bigger twist at the end but I won't spoil it.

Probably this one. ^_^

The film raises, but does not resolve, the question of how the family came so readily to accept the impersonation. Parker, Fisher and Bourdin himself suggest, but cannot provide conclusive evidence for, the possibility that some in the family may have known more than they revealed about (or even been directly implicated in) Nicholas's disappearance, in which case his purported "reappearance" could have proved convenient from their point of view.
