The Horrific and Heartbreaking Story of How This Guy Was Almost Murdered by One of His Friends

On June 6, 2007, Ross Capicchioni was blown shot three times and left for dead on the outskirts of Detroit, Michigan.

When his friend of 10 years asked for a ride to a shady part of town, Capicchioni was hesitant at first, but decided to do him the favor–not knowing the fate that awaited.

Once they reached the location, it wasn’t long before he exited his car and heard the sound of a shotgun. That’s when he looked down and realized that his arm was “hanging off like a zombie.” His buddy shot him at point blank range with a shotgun.

When he realized what had happened, he looked up and asked, “did you shoot me.” But before his friend could answer, he fired the shotgun, again, and blew a hole right through his chest.

It didn’t end there.

After falling to his knees from the impact, the barrel of the shotgun was now pointed at his head. Fortunately, he was able to smack it away before another shot was fired.

It still hit me in the head really good, but it didn’t blow my head off like a watermelon.

He was still alive.

Then, Capicchioni remembers looking up and seeing the butt of the gun quickly coming towards his face. With one blow, his teeth were knocked out. Thinking he was surely dead, Capicchioni’s friend took the car keys out of his pocket and left the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting, what happened after the shots were fired, and the reason this kid tried to murder his longtime friend is a horrific and heartbreaking story.

Damn. Kid's lucky, got some heart in him though. Doesn't seem like he'd have gang-banging buddies, not in a skater circle.


Honestly, I was expecting this to be some old story, figured the name was going to be some mob guy or something. lol
 
wow that is crazy, kid is lucky to be alive.

i didn't watch it but read the transcript. that was really painful to read but i got the gist of what was going on.

Well the video is better.

Listen to your feelings. Cause he had an eerie feeling before it happened. And he had to resist the urge to just lay there and bleed out. He had to get up and at least try to walk, he made it like 7 feet and fell, which is what got someones attention.

yeah i just watched it. i gotta say reading the transcript and his words, vs. him actually saying it, i expected him to sound a lot more ignorant based on the transcript. the dude sounds very level headed actually.
 
Coworker showed me this a long time ago. Just makes wonder why anyone would live in Detroit if they weren't working for UAW and well-compensated.

Don't bother because in the REAL WORLD there are lots of suckers on the internet.
I think the question should be asked why this is posted here and why folks want to buy a prime real estate on the moon?
 
I was perusing craigslist a couple months ago and saw a nice Ducati 1098 for sale that had the word illest stenciled on the bodywork. I sent the guy an e-mail asking him for the mileage (because the moron didn't list it in his ad) and if that stupid graphic was a decal I could easily remove or if it was painted on there.

He never responded. 😀

We actually need a real detective to sleuth the net and see what shows up.

There are really only discussions about it - without citing any specific courtroom, it's difficult to just dig up court records; you need to know what court tried a case (or is claimed to have tried a case).

It is difficult to believe, now that you mention it, but stuff like this escapes the media's attention all the time. If it wasn't white on black crime, what happens in Detroit is likely almost undocumented.

Public records won't just show up in Google, you have to get them direct from the jurisdiction. So unless anyone has done so, Googling won't help. And I highly doubt any news outlet covered the story if it was real.

With a snopes entry which would likely have sources backing up their determination, it's difficult to simply write it off as fact or fiction.

- Guy's friend asks him to drive him somewhere.
- Guy says no, not good area.
- Some days later, Guy gives in and drives friend.
- Guy gets shot 3 times total by a shotgun from friend upon arriving at destination. Friend also bashes his teeth in - then leaves Guy for dead.
- Guy finds some miracle strength to move out into the open where he is spotted... nearby person gets ambulance.
- Guy survives and only thing he can remember is his dad's phone number when he wakes up.
- Friend was already picked up by FBI because this idiot friend called one of his idiot friends and admitted it over the phone.
- Friend gets 35yrs in jail because Guy did not die, otherwise would have been life in jail.
- Friend did it as gang initiation.
