Do you all have a shady looking ice cream man that drives a scary van with warped music playing through the streets of your neighborhood? I don't remember them being that scary looking when I was a kid.

We have one coming through here some evenings and I'm like, "Quick! Get inside, the icecream man is coming!"

I don't live in a large enough populated area but I do remember watching this thing on "hey arnold" or something like that back in the day.

Well, maybe you aren't scary looking. I remember getting Nutty Buddies when I was a kid from the icecream man. But the one who drives through here is just freaky!
 
We used to when I lived at home. I can't recall seeing an ice cream truck for years. My kids would go nuts if an ice cream truck came on our street.
 
Our ice cream man comes around once a year maybe - they underestimate the amount of kids in this neighborhood.

Ya i am actually scared of the ice cream man. He friggin has his song going so loud you can here it a mile away and dont know where he is coming from or how close he is...and howcome there are no ice cream girls? At leat i have never seen one. The ice cream they have always has a funky taste to it anyways lol...so ya i get it at the store also.

Do those ice cream men even go through background checks? If I were a parent I'd be very concerned for my kids safety.

Don't they just pay someone else $xx per day plus mileage costs to rent the ice cream truck? Anything they make above the cost of the rental, mileage and products they keep as profit.

No background checks. And in the case of this particular truck, I am amazed that it can still be driven... it's in really, really bad shape.

I'm not without compassion for the guy who drives it, but I'm also a little too streetwise myself to want to do business with him.
