I'm waiting for the 5870x2 myself. If nvidia can release a speedy card this fall then prices should moderate somewhat for all cards.
 
Well First thing I ran was vantage and im kind of baffeld at the results

Vantage: 13686
Cpu:11337
Graphics: 14702

My old score, 4870 and 3.62ghz q9550 4bg of ram. Only thing upgraded was my video card, and for some reason my cpu score dropped 3k?
Vantage: 10305
Cpu:14741
Graphics: 9365

 
The GPU score jumped more than 5k points, so that's wicked 🙂 And make sure your CPU is still OC'ed. Maybe it was reset to stock?

Got any games you could try? GTA IV? Crysis? Anything at least mildly demanding? 🙂
 
Well Im installing crysis right now to test it. I ran empire total war a moment ago all Ultra settings, 4x AA and 16X AF, ran perfectly. I had to format prettey recently so im a bit more barren on games then usual. I did check my cpu OC and it was as it should be so im not sure what happened there.
 
Newegg shipped my order this morning, and I paid for one day shipping, so if I'm lucky I will have it in hand when I get back from work today. Either way I'm so happy I didn't have to wait until next month for it to be in stock lol
 
ugh yeah my computer un-Ocd itself, hate it when it does that. Espically when the bios says im ocd....

Well im installing crysis, far cry 2 and Company of heroes. Any other requests?
 
The Batman game? Or the new NFS? Those two seem to be a bit harder on the GPU. And can you run GTA IV maxed?

EDIT: And the DS3R can sometimes be tricky 🙂
 
Ok new vantage score, im installing GTA4 Crysis, and CoH still. Getting some of them off of steam so will be about 40min

Min Fps 17.56, Max Fps: 34.29 Average Fps 28.1

 
Ok now for the Ocd version, running 900mhz core 1300mhz memory
Min: 20.61
Max: 39.82
Average: 31.81

thought if I loop it a few times I seem to get a much better score, not sure if you guys want my highs or just from a fresh run.

 
Well I can play crysis at 4x perfectly with no studders. I can run 8x but I get some frame drops if something big happens, but still playable.
 
yup I was playing crysis at 1680x1050 with 8x AA and it is playable. For some reason though the rocks always looks super funky in that game, even with the graphics capped out. The foliage is amazing though
 
crysis is going to still be a hot topic is 2017. when there's nothing to talk about in the gtx 680, we can always say..."but, yeah it does 1,466 fps in WOW, but can it play crysis very high 25x16 4xaa at 60 fps? No? Get back to me when something does!" I hope that nvidia and ati are giving crytek royalties...
 
I really don't understand why crytek made crysis so demanding on hardwares. I mean don't they know they should target the sweetspot like 8800gt etc at the time of the release? it's ridiculous. probably had to wait until 68xx or 78xx to be able to run crysis at hi rez with decent AA AF with out sli//xfire. but good to see the 58xx series can handle it better now. 30 frames at 1600 is pretty good for this game.
