Hah, I was listening to Planet Claire the other day.

Dial is usually tuned to Ch.33 1st Wave on SXM so the B-52's are always in rotation.

My cruel bar trick is seeing if they have the 7-minute Rock Lobster album version on the jukebox and making everyone suffer. Unreal that track is from 1978!

Went to an Apache festival today and tried the acorn stew. It was delicious so we tried the acorn dumplings from a different booth, also delicious.
I've heard of eating acorns, but have never seen it anywhere, and never tried it myself. Seems more labor intensive than I feel like dealing with. How would you describe what you had?

They soak the acorns to remove the tannins and then grind them up to form a thickener for the broth. The broth in the stew was cooked with beef cubes, squash, and fresh corn. The dumplings were cooked with shredded beef in an acorn gravy.

Does it have a nuttiness, or is it a texture thing?

The acorn adds a bit of nut flavor and substantial fat to the broth. It’s mainly a way to augment fat and protein.

If anyone is interested in good soap(all styles), they're on sale through tomorrow. The bag of seconds is the best deal. It's the only brand bar soap I buy. Local company too.

My wife and I collect art when we travel and today while we were in Murano we were captivated by this glass piece created by artist Andrea Tagliapietra.

This is the first glass piece we've added to our collection.

I would love the first one plus anything with tea tree oil but the coffee bar soap? hmmn I'd have to try it first, not giving me refreshing/wake up vibes.

The coffee is a new recipe. I haven't had it before. It's supposed to be "earthy", which is what I go for. I like the ones that smell like trees. GrizzlyBar is my favorite. They have other types though. I have a couple bags of mixed pieces, and I use those for my generic hand soap. They're all good. You might like one of the citrus based blends.

I already lost a bolt. The sites are laughably out. I need to setup a good range to get it dialed in. Power seems decent. I got ~5mm penetration of a pine board at ~20'. Still waiting on extra strings and broadhead bolts.

Pencils should work and are cheaper.
I would like to make my own, but they're very losable for the amount of work I'd have to put in. I lost four more bolts. Couldn't wait. Two are confirmed broken with the fletching ripped off, and three are gone. I got the sights closer, but it isn't a sniper rifle yet. I have a good box I can make a backstop out of, but I really like the box, and didn't want to shoot it up. I think I have to get over it, and just use that. Pack it with cardboard, and a piece of wood as the last layer.

Found a shipping box that had MREs in it, and that works great as a target. I'm in the ballpark with sighting it in, but it's kind of wild. Not sure if it's me or the gun. The gun's very light, and the trigger isn't the smoothest thing in the world since it's levering a tensioned string out of a groove. I'm getting shots in a 6" radius @ 30'. That might be as good as it gets without sandbagging it, and I'm not doing all of that.

Also gonna have to buy a bunch more bolts. They seem to be semi disposable. Had another one break hitting the box. The plastic fletching's the weak part.

I saw it at GroceryOutlet, picked it up to inspect it, put it back, picked it up again, put it back, then said to myself "Quit being a dumbass. It's fucking $1.50. If it sucks, you aren't gonna starve without the money".

So that's what I did, Just had some on cheese/crackers. It's interesting. Definitely tastes Italian. The chili has a very dry heat, which I like. It also tastes like tomato, which I don't so much. What's weird about that is there's no tomato in it. I guess it's the citrus fiber(whatever the fuck that is)? It only has four ingredients.

I think I'll get more when I go back. It's a little different, and cheap enough. The tube's also kind of cool. Works great for cheese/crackers. Putting food in tubes is weird. Seems to popular in Germany too. Would be fun giving it to your illiterate kid for toothpaste :^D

Yesterday I purchased a shadow box and started putting together a collage of items we collected from our time in Cinque Terre. The three terracotta tiles are from a small studio in Monterosso al Mare called Fabbrica d'Arte Monterosso.

Since Cinque Terre is a national park you have to purchase entry cards and when you purchase the cards they also give you a map of all the trails inside the park. Of course we saved them so that is what you see in the upper left and lower right corner with the map behind the tiles. Finishing it up is a picture of us hiking the Azure Trail. We started the hike in Corniglia with a stop in Vernazza for lunch and finished at Monterosso al Mare.

Bought a Roku Ultra just now. Had the 9ers game on and the wife wanted to watch the Bills game while she was doing some craft stuff for her class. The wireless roku stick kept buffering and she was getting annoyed. The ultra will be hardwired so hopefully that'll take care of the buffering issue when I install it.
