80v Greenworks Earth Auger with bit for $473.81. Total impulse purchase, I happened to check the Greenworks site and they have a site wide sale. Regular price is $599.00 before tax, so around $676.87. I was planing on eventually buying one of these anyway so may as well buy it now if it's on sale. I may actually get to use it soon as I do want to put some poles in the ground in my yard for more solar panels. I'll be using logs from my property as the poles, saving around $450 in lumber so that makes the tool almost free. At least that's how I justify spending this much money on another tool. 😛

Love them all. I have not yet tried Fjallraven because while some of the clothing looks amazing, it's just too pricey.

Nothing has changed, you get what you pay for. I don't wear cheap stuff, especially shoes and socks. If I added up how much all of the Darn Tough socks in my drawer cost, whew. Kuhl makes nice shorts, although their pants seem to always look wrinkled for me. There are exceptions, but not with shoes, socks, base layers, jackets, etc.

Yep. Some brands start losing quality but most of those brands are still kicking really well.

I have mostly Kuhl fleeces, hoodies, shorts and short sleeve shirts/polos. But the two pants I have are really good, they don't wrinkle. But they have so many different types of fabrics and styles.

Their cargo convertibles are my favorite camping and backpacking pants unless it's too cold out. Shorts during the day, a little more warmth in the morning and night. Good pockets. Rugged. I've had them for like 10 years.

Replaced our almost 7 year old Neato XV series "dumb" robot vacuum. While it still worked, the screen had died so it could no longer be programed. I got this during a sale...PLUS, after chatting with their customer service, I got an additional 20% off...making this one about $20 more than I paid for the original XV series back in 2015.

New "Rosie" arrived today. Just a bit larger than the older model, but damn...MUCH quieter. (at least in "eco mode, we'll see how quiet it is in "max" mode)
The old one was like having a 747 in the room. This one, noticeable, but just barely. Still some of the same issues...tries to climb some furniture...gets stuck in tight places, but seems to find its way out better than the old one did.
 
Got this 1980ish Vantage VA-40 to replace the 1980 Morris W30 dreadnaught I gave one of my brothers to fill in for his 1982 Martin D28, which needs a neck reset etc. This one has a beautiful arched solid ash back and sides with a spruce top, and definitely is not trying to be a Gibson or Martin. $360 CAD from Montreal. Put new silk and steel strings on it. Beautiful. Now I don't have to haul my old Hagstrom or Bjarton around and risk them.
Vantage was a 1970's and 80's collaboration between some Canadian luthiers / designers and the Matsumoku guitar company in Japan. My third Vantage, but the others are electric. Just need more stands again. I think I have 14 or 15 guitars now, though I have a few loaned out at the moment.. Just the right amount. For now.

This inspired me to look into after-market power folding mirrors.

Amazing.

The only thing unclear is if this accounts for blind-spot monitoring which my trim level has. **EDIT** It do.
 
Lamzu Atlantis wireless mouse. Managed to get in on the first restock after the preorders shipped. Love my wired Endgame but got tired of their absolute terrible and nonexistent launch of their wireless mouse. This is a very similar size and shape and it fit like a glove when it came today. 55g of wireless perfection

and a very on sale Amazon purchase - a great little cordless stick vacuum cause I like to live clean and much better than a small cordless handheld dustbuster type thing. My old shark corded vacuum is now in backup only mode.

Been toying with getting a stick vaccuum, Ryobi makes one which uses the One+ batteries so that is very tempting. It's kind of nice for quick vacuum jobs without taking out the big vacuum.

The Auger I bought just came in today. This actually feels like decent quality. 8" auger bit came with it and it can go down to 4' with the extender on. I can always buy more extenders if I want to go deeper but will see how 4' works out with a small solar project in my yard as I think going deeper would feel very awkward to do. Going to put in 6 poles straight into the ground and build the array on top. Looking forward to taking it for a spin, literally.

I have a story! A number of years ago, I made a new friend at work & went over to visit him at his house. He was single and had a cat. The cat hissed at him when we walked into his house. I asked him what the deal was with that, because if you're single, why would you have a cat that hated you, and he proceeded to tell me about his $4,000 cat!

So he was doing pretty well financially. He had been married, no kids yet, getting paid the big bucks, SUPER nice guy. Took really good care of his cars, house, toys, family, everything, just treated it all like gold. But then his wife decided to cheat on him with the car wash guy who was making minimum wage & lived in his mom's basement (not knocking anyone's job or financial position here!). Que the divorce proceedings...halfway through the negotiations he's like screw it, this is too much headache, just take everything & never talk to me again & I'll start over...but leave me the cat. The cat, you see, had been his wife's cat since she was like 12 years old. At this point, the cat was like 15 or 20 years old, so she had been with that cat for like over half her life.

So she's like, no way! And her lawyer is like, what the crap is wrong with you, you get the car, the house, all of the physical belongings, and ALL of the money, are you NUTS? GIVE HIM THE CAT! But see, the cat also hated him with a passion, just never ever liked him, so this was his spiteful revenge for her cheating on him. She was so mad that she took him to court over it. The judge was like he's literally giving you EVERYTHING and you want the CAT? And the cat is the ONLY thing he's asking for? Ultimately, it cost him $4,000 in legal fees, but HE WON THE CAT!

So that's the story of my friend's $4,000 cat that hated him.

My wife doesn't really like "my" dog because she's lazy and wants to sleep most of the time, she doesn't like to play, she snores, and has horrid gas most of the time that would likely peel paint from the walls.

So if I were getting divorced after 22+ years, I know the house and 1/2 of just about everything would be gone.

However, I am fairly confident my wife would happily send me packing with "my" dog and the toys. 😛
