In process of a complete backyard renovation. So, spending quite a lot of money but it improves the value of the house and we will enjoy it so money well spent IMO. Plus, no more grass means no watering!

In in city where I live (Orland Park, IL) , we are required to have about 15% of your residence lot covered with grass. 🙁

I installed and tested the compressor last night, and good to go for today's project. I am renting a ~$20,000 Kubota tractor loader with box blade, and a ~$53,000 Kubota U35-4 excavator with thumb for $600 for the weekend deal which is from 3 PM today to Monday morning.

It was just a few rocks, right?

About 12 tons of them!

We gleaned that off of ~2.5 acres. Those easy ones in the picture above I could see. The ones in the tall grass, not so much < cue up the Jaws theme music>
i swept the tall brush and grass with the bucket an inch off the ground, and found them the hard way.

You have enough rocks gathered to start work on that fireplace your wife is going to want as soon as she sees this post. I hope your back is up to it. 😛

I had to move a couple rocks like that, thankfully only 3 since I had no heavy equipment. Pound 2x4 between ground and rock then lever it out, basically. Once it was out of the ground I used a tow strap and dragged it with the truck. Lots of elbow grease was also used. 😛 Not the most ideal setup but it worked.

I know I'm doing it wrong.
Here are more things I did not buy. My sister's John Deere riding mower. They sold the farm and nobody else can use it. According to the JD service department, it is a good model, power deck and power assisted steering.

Cedar shingles left over from my brother's house build/remodel.

I'll find a place for them on our new home build.

This gem came home to me. My dad built this toolbox as a high school play prop, in 1967.
Form follows function and it has lived on as a toolbox for my brother all these years.

Meze 99 Classics headphones. Gold/walnut.

Gonna give ‘em a try for couple weeks. Looking for comfort as much as “proper” sound.

Just bought/got this tattoo, as a cover up. We forgot to take a before picture lol - but the entire base of the tree trunk, the solid black part, was the part that got integrated into the coverup. It was not a tiny tattoo. Basically the tattoo there was just a black blob as the artist fucked up and it all bled into itself, filling up the white spaces that were inside part of it that made the design. So I turned it into a tree. Oh in the tree is a little Easter Egg too. Got a smaller tattoo appointment for Nov 1st, and then done for a while.

The trunk bark is a topo map showing where the treasure is buried! Someone is going to steal your leg! 😱
Maybe I should have just had an amputation and gotten a peg leg as a cover up!

Not sure why all that texture is in the photo there, it's not at all that pronounced, but maybe I should get out a compass!

Did you spot the Easter egg in the tree branches?

Kind of an impulse purchase since it was a good deal. 2x Canadian Solar 340w solar panels for $500. 74 cents a watt, hard to beat that without buying in bulk. I bought 2 last year from same guy and never ended up deploying them and these are exact same model so that makes 4 of the same model so I can use them in the same array. 1360w total. My gas bill doubled so I'm going to set these up on the deck temporarily to try to generate extra power to run space heaters during the day, and maybe even heat water for storing heat.

End goal is to build a pergola that's about as high as house roof and put them on top. I'd need to go there every morning to take snow off but as long as I keep the patio door area clear I should be able to get to it from there so it won't be too bad. Clearing the existing ones on the shed feels like an arctic expedition. Need snow shoes and everything lol.

These are almost as tall as I am.
