Speaking of cleaning cooking items, I'm going to have to break out the gloves and go to town on my blackstone griddle. I may put some scratch down on one of those griddle cleaner pads and see how well they work. It's not exactly rusting, but I have some indentations on it and I haven't used mine since fall so it's time.
 
Dyson Ball Animal 3 Plus

The old Dyson Ball Animal 1 Plus finally gave up. Suction was fine but the brush no longer spun. That part was $130 and I got complete vacuum for $160 direct from Dyson on their refurb site.

Sweet. Ripple Fiber is in the process of pulling conduit in my town. I'm on the list for install. 1/1 for $85 month. $40/mo cheaper than the 250/15 cable internet I currently have.
 
Nice! Have been eyeing the F150 Lightning for a while, but I just can't afford or justify paying that kind of money on a vehicle. Hoping I eventually start seeing them on used market. Maybe once my current truck is finished. Paid over 10k for my current truck so hopefully it lasts me long though.
 
Had never before cared much about cpu cooling since I have always targeted 60 fps in gaming so haven't overclocked a cpu since the Athlon XP and always just used the stock coolers for the longest time. But couldn't resist getting a 1440p OLED panel now that they're half the price they were ~4 years ago. There is no such thing as a 60Hz 1440p OLED monitor (bare minimum seems to be 180Hz these days) and ended up getting a 360Hz panel (MSI MPG 271QRX) and the thing is super impressive in gaming. But now playing with unlocked framerates I'd have my cpu (i5-12400F) going straight to 100C after a few minutes playing Spiderman Miles Morales with high RT effects and maxed out particle effects, which makes the snow look pretty impressive in the game. Anyways it gives a pretty high cpu load with those settings at 1440p with a 5070.

So got a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE dual tower cooler and I'm extremely impressed how cool my cpu runs. I can't get it over 55C even after compressing H.265 video in Handbrake for hours when on the stock cooler it's 100C within a second. Not bad at all for a $40 cooler though it was my first time putting on an aftermarket cooler in like 25 years and getting the fans clipped on was a pain.

Local gem show was a bit of a bust, so we looked around and found a few nice rock shops. Picked up some cool stuff.

This is what I got. The amethyst's deep color doesn't come out all that well, which is a problem with my Pixel phone in general.

One of every crystal habit of calcite, the shelf with the calcite is almost entirely calcite. Only ~250 habits to go. 😁

Mostly what catches our eye but we have some specific minerals we are looking for. Wood tin from Cornwall is at the top of the list but good specimens are stupid expensive so we haven’t bit.

We had our eye on this pair hoping for a dramatic price drop but someone bought it for what they were asking.
The larger is about an inch across and the seller wanted $800 for the pair. We couldn’t get to that price.

I've started purchasing hardcover copies of audiobooks I've been reading. Decided I wanted to start a library that my kids can pull from when they get older, that and I like the idea of collecting nice books. I'll probably get a custom embosser as well.

I tore through 50 audiobooks in the last 10 months -- got a bit of a backlog to purchase, but will likely purchase after completion going forward.

Yeah the Athlon 64 stock cooler was a pain like that. This Thermalright one you screw on though, but the fan clips kept coming off when I'd be trying to push them in position to latch onto the heatsink.

OK, I'm confused.

Audiobooks are just media files - but you note you've been reading them? Are you purchasing the hardcover books of the audio books you've listened to?

And you need a Embosser for the books?

Yes. I have only been listening to audiobooks. In my current state, I can't dedicate time to sit and read. However:
  • I like the idea of having a personal library, something my kids can pick from when they're older
  • I would like to eventually read said books, rather than listen, once I can get my attention span under control and have some semblance of free time.
I would like to emboss the books with a custom seal because I think it's cute AF.
 
Audiobooks feel like cheating to me. So far I only get books that are narrated by the subject. Patrick Stewart's autobiography, A Stitch In Time by Andrew Robinson(Garak), The Hologram's Handbook(Robert Picardo), and Kathryn Janeway's(Kate Mulgrew) autobiography. I have other random audiobooks I picked up here and there, but I haven't listened yet.
