I'm on a spending spree, trying to do my part to help the economy. In the past week I've ordered a 2025 BMW X5, hired a guy to redo our 250 foot driveway, bought plane tickets to Europe, and ordered new merino wool socks and some GU Roctane energy drink and capsules for an upcoming ultramarathon.

I've had my Wave since 1999 or so. Time to mix it up.

I ordered dog poop baggies. On walks my dog will usually go just off of a canal trail that's never really used so I don't worry about it too much. This morning she decided to right in front of the high school sidewalk. I had nothing to pick it up with. 300 bags and a little holder for it for $8.99 on the zon.

It's generally good practice to pick up dog poop, because it can attract nuisance animals or transmit diseases into local wildlife.

I gave them ten euros. The record label gets the money. Most of the groups are rearrangements of the same few musicians.

I went with 20€. That was the figure I had floating in my head, and ~30¢/hr once, then free ever after is a bargain no matter how you look at it. Downloads will take awhile on my new slower connection. I'm downloading flac, and I'll transcode to opus once I get them all. Thanks for the link!

It took me about three and a half hours to download the FLACs.

I got these from biglots today...

They're good in a plain kind of way. What's interesting is they were made in Russia. That was actually the deciding factor in my purchase. I could count the Russian made things I've had ever on one hand, and some of those were used items.

Nesting dolls from the thriftshop. I feel like I got some other kind of folkcraft from there also, but I can't remember what. This is the first food aside from vodka I've had.

edit:
I was looking this over and remembered some kvass I got off amazon. It was pretty good. Some time I want to try making it myself.

42 GB download
Well, that took fucking forever. This is what it compressed to(~192k opus)...

I wonder how the math would work if they could transcode to whatever format or bitrate you wanted before download? It would take a fair amount more drive space on their side, but it would save a lot of bandwidth for people that don't like their lossy formats, and download flac to transcode to what they want. Maybe I'm the only one picky enough to do that...

I only download flac. It’s kind of funny though as some of the music I have bought was clearly compressed to MP3 by the artist before Bandcamp converted it to flac. I enjoy the nuances of compression preserved in the audio. :)

Pulled the trigger on a new laptop. My wife and I's 7yo Dell Inspiron's have been taking dumps on us lately so I pulled the trigger on a Yoga 7 and a Legion Slim 5 Gen 9:

I need my laptop for photo content and I figure it seems like a good time to get back into gaming with my kids.

Just got back from a 10 day trip visiting the Niagara area of Ontario Canada. This was our first visit to Canada and while I know it was a cliche' area to visit we have nothing but great things to say about Canada.

The views, the people, the food, and everything else about our trip was just so much fun.

While we were walking the historic district of Niagara on the Lake we walked into a gallery and purchased a piece by a Canadian artist.

It is semi-monochrome piece titled Sparkle Today by Jordan Hicks.

Oh, I almost forgot the All Dressed chips we bought. I've read about these for years here on the forum but this was the first time I got to taste them.

It's subtle but I get it. I know they are just the Lays brand but they taste good.
