Been looking into similar mini PCs myself on ebay, can get them really cheap. Not in a position to spend money now but I eventually want to build a proxmox cluster and they would be a decent platform for that. I don't imagine they're very quick, but having multiple of them with maxed out ram would probably still be half decent at running VMs.

I picked up this ~55 year old Rockwell band saw yesterday.
It needs new tires, blades, a fence and a pulley for the new included 2HP single phase motor. It has a 3 phase motor in it now but I have no interest in VFD's or converter setups.
This same vendor has all the parts, including this nifty magnetic fence.

It fills a hole in the shop tools. I build my own cabinets and would like the ability to resaw some local wood and also some sustainable exotics.
My other big tools are a grizzly 10" cabinet saw, a 12x4 shopsmith planer, grizzly 4 bag vac system, a Kreg 1Hp router table setup.
Next up is a sander. I'd love to saw some boards, send them a pass through the planer for dimension, and feed them through a sander.

I think you need one of these

Wood's the miracle material. Even an untalented hack like me can make useful stuff out of it with only a saw, knife, and drill. None of which require power other than what I provide.

Depending on how small you are going, you can get some pretty big processing power in a small package. I got a couple um790pro minisforum minipc for the office. They have zen4 7940hs cpu.

The wife got one of these. For Excel

I imagine the 7940HS thermal trottles faster than the 7840HS.
Ha. Yeah these are mainly a web browser. We use a web based PMS.
I wanted to go with some all-in-one systems, but couldnt find any that were VESA mountable, so went with regular monitors and just hung these minis behind the screens.

They do run boinc in the background 24/7. They sit at 4.6ghz running primegrid which is avx code.

Rally?

It's frustrating I cannot find a laptop that just uses Phoenix without added video card.

Why don't I cross-post in this thread...

Welcome to my fantasy build come true. Full specs in the sig. This rig has a soft spot for me because it's my first non-budget build of my life.

I did not pick it up, a forklift did. I will use my forklift to get it down off the truck, but then I have to "walk" it about 15'.
I suspect about 400 with motor. I'd take the motor out, but then it would be *REALLY* top heavy instead of mostly top heavy.
A bunch of that is a nice cast iron table 3' off the ground.

I bought my first mechanical keyboard. Vortex Multix TKL w/ Gateron Pro brown switches. I really wanted a Leopold FC750R (probably with Cherry MX Clears) but it's completely sold out in the color scheme I want, and I'd have to mod it with sockets for the switches.

This one is hot-swap so if I don't like the browns, I can just pop in different ones. I also bought a cheap wireless numpad to keep off to the side; I'll probably build a nice programmable mechanical numpad at some point.

You chose, poorly.
How so? I didn't expect it to do much. Its kinda nifty and performs better than expected. I wiped the preinstalled windows 11 pro and put in a fresh install to remove all the chinese spy stuff. Installing steam on it and will play low level graphics games on it. Also will use as a security monitor for my office.

I have tons of Beelink PCs at work. This one I ordered has a built in screen and battery. Can be used on the go or as a mini desktop. It's pretty cool actually.
