just because some of you keep dogs for pets do not mean dogs are any different from any other animal. all animals should be treated the same.

eat cows, eat chickens, eat pigs, eat dogs.

one is no different from the other.

Just because i love dogs doesn't mean i can't hate an organization that i feel goes too extreme sometimes. Personally, i don't have a problem with PETA, i think they do good work.

I hate PETA, but I also dislike the MIStreatment of dogs.

However, the dissection was NOT mistreatment. The dog was going to be euthanized anyhow, and was fully sedated. At least his death wasn't useless.

I dislike extremists of any type. And PETA goes above and beyond extremism in their silly activism.

Most people dislike PETA because of their extremist behavior not because of what they value.

I disagree. Animals are different from one another. Being at the top of the food chain, we humans have designated each animal to serve a certain purpose. It's just the way of life, get over it.

I don't like to see dogs mistreated, but I don't like to see other animals get mistreated either. The good thing is, though, that what I don't know can't piss me off. And PETA is the suck, they go too far sometimes.
 

PETA is an extreme organization that violently and illegally fights to protect EVERY living thing, not just dogs.

I love dogs and hate to see them hurt, but I sure don't condone the actions of PETA that give them a reputation as violent animal activists.

Exactly. PETA is crazy because they treat animals like they are equal or of more value than humans. Although, sometimes its freaky to hear people post about sentencing animal abusers to death... it's more of an emotional response than anything. No one likes to hear about animal mistreatment.

PETA has done some great things, but they have also done some things that i find too extreme. the problem with PETA is they value animal life over human life.

i like a good steak, and i wear a leather jacket. i am not an animal activistic extremist.
some animals were put here for us to eat or benefit from their products. that is my belief.
it doesn't make me a hypocrite though if i want punishment for a person who starves their dog.

I don't get it? What does hating PETA have to do with keeping dogs? Extreme animal activists frown upon keeping animals at all. So keeping an animal AND hating on PETA seem to conicide with each other.

Or am i missing something.

Animals were 'put here' to live. What we do with them is our decision. We could worship pigeons and eat dogs. We could have cows as pets and eat partially born chickens. Everything is a choice that we pretend is natural only because it is what we are used to.

Oh and I don't really give a crap about PETA, but I love how worked up people get in dog threads.

If all PETA did was crack down on dog mistreatment, I think most of us here would like them. There's no hypocrisy.
