THE HULK WAS A WASTE OF MY MATINEE $$$

Well I went in to my Local Lowes theater to see the Hulk and let me tell you..
it was a complete and utter waste of 6 dollars... I would of had a better time
sitting at home and staring at my Lava Lamp (if I had one). The story line of the
movie was way different then the comic book-strip.. I mean I assumed a little here and
there would be changed to appeal to the audience.. but good-lord.. the
story line of how the became the Hulk was way different unless im not
remembering the comic-book strip in-correctly....

The two of the main figth scenes were in the dark and u could barely see a
damn thing.. and that pissed me off the most!!!... but I fore-warn all my fellow
Anand-techies... this is a movie to rent on a rainy day... and watch with
the girlfriend.. and ohh yea.. the movie was waaayy to emotional.....
I could understand a little emotion in the movie.. but all the reasons for his
anger and his love for whom-ever her name was is uncalled for... I
wanted to see more ass-kicking!!!:disgust:😱:evil::frown::gift:😎:disgust:

Actually, the reasons for his anger, and his feelings for Betty were portrayed exactly how they should have been.

The only thing they changed about his origin was that rather than saving a kid from a gamma bomb explosion in a project he was running, he saved his friend from gamma radiation released by an experiment he was running. (Im ignoring the nanomeds for a reason....)

They took some liberties with it, but it worked.

I loved it, and I expected it to be crap. I am also the one of the most hard-core comic geeks you could hope to find.

um, this would be a problem with you local theater chain. the Loews i went to had a perfect, scratch free print, and the dark scenes were as visible as the filmmakers wanted it to look.

Well I was under the impression that he became the Hulk because he subjected himself to test and
gamma-radiation.. I guess I was thinking about the televison show of the Hulk... and the two fight
in the dark when the hulk fought his fathers dogs.. and then ultimately his father in the end... was
really difficult to see.. so i guess it must have been the projector then...😕

Edit: HARRRRRRRR no spoilers! edit the title!

I'm so glad you mentioned this. Here I quote IMDB:

Critics are talking about The Hulk the way intelligent people talked about Marvel Comics characters when they first began attracting sophisticated adult readers in the mid-1960s. "The movie brings up issues about genetic experimentation, the misuse of scientific research and our instinctive dislike of misfits, and actually talks about them," writes Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times. He adds that director Ang Lee "is trying here to actually deal with the issues in the story of the Hulk, instead of simply cutting to brainless special effects." Lou Lumenick in the New York Post writes: "It's not easy being green -- and it's even tougher to make a summer event movie with a brain in its head. The hugely talented Ang Lee ... deserves credit for trying with The Hulk." Joel Siegel remarked on ABC's Good Morning America: "It's a shame it falls apart at the ending but the worst thing I can say about this movie is that it's so smart, so deep, so well done it might be too good for the teenage boy audience these films are usually aimed at."

Thank you, Ang Lee--I knew I could count on you to make a good superhero movie.

yeah, I really liked it as well. So many people are saying that it wasn't good, but I was thoroughly entertained.

Another thing that Ebert said that I agreed with was how Ang Lee made a movie about a comic book character the way it should be. I just can't say the same thing for X-Men. For some reason, that movie left me unfulfilled.

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! MILD SPOILERS!!!

They should have written the entire part about his father getting powers out of the film. That stuff sucked horribly. I went with over a dozen different people, some guys that like that kind of movie/were comic book fans as kids, some guys that weren't that big o' fans of movies like that/didn't collect comics, and women of both types. Everyone agreed that that part should have been written out. It was too ridiculous. And I don't want to hear anything about how that was a comic book character and a comic-book-like story, because that stuff only works in comic books, not in movies.

Other than that, the movie was incredibly good. I could have watched two hours of the dog fight. Freaking sweet!!!!

The Palm Beach Post gave it a A-, the review was by a woman too. I am seeing it tomorrow. Too many people are saying it is nothing like the TV show, but it's not supposed to be. The TV show was the only way they could adapt it to the technology budget they had at the time.

who cares if you don't wanne hear about it, most people likes it as a whole and i think those parts were a good addition to the movie.

Like the Hulk himself, right? hah... please

I thought it was too long. This is the first super hero movie I seen that seem aimed toward fans of the original than the others (spiderman, superman, etc). You gotta be a pretty big hulk fan to not get bored with all the crap in between the semi interesting parts. I really wanted to like this movie just because the Hulk charactor is so cool...but its seems the took the "cool" out of it and made like a "Gone With The Wind" of super hero movies.

I cant imagine setting through this movie again although I do think it is worth seeing once just because its THE HULK😉

theater owners that run their bulbs dim to save some bux need to be beaten:frown:

movie sucked. after all this hype with advertisements on the internet and commercials, etc, i expected a great movie like spiderman, but then got disappionted with this. i mean, it was alright...wasn't great though.

I downloaded it and watched most of it last night....errrr.... I mean, I watched it at the theater 😉 ...... and it sucks severely, in every way. The CGI graphics make it look like roger rabbit, the story line is convoluted, and the acting just plain sucks. Yech. I'll give it a 3 out of 10.

The only thing I think needed to be improved was the ending (explain what happened there?). Other than that I thought it was good. Very good acting by Connelly and Nolte.

Did you download the pre release of it with the unfinished CGI, perhaps? You l337 pirate you!
