Waaaaaaay too expensive. I'd rather have a Shuttle SV24 with mobo, processor, and PSU for $60 less.

Depends on you needs..I need a slick looking desktop case as I don't want to haul my 50 pound tower
Uh...an SV24or any other SFFPC will only weigh a couple of pounds (it's the size of a toaster).

the coolermaster is standard micro atx though, its more versitile i'd say. they make one with a smoked see through plastic front also.

My bad...I meant that the antec 1030w case I have is HUGe, makes noise b/c of the fan, and I want to have desktop machine for the perks...

THe shuttle is very nice indeed..

P.S> ah..crap...I didn't notice it was micro-atx....this sucks then

So, you drop a bill on a good mATX board and maybe a PSU, or you could get
an AMS barebones. Sorry, but I think SFF/ITX is the way to go from now on.

Sorry if I came off a bit biased, I love the new SFF/ITX stuff. I've been waiting for a PC version of the G4 cube, and it's as close as we've got so far. :)

I know how you feel. I've got a beautiful dead Pioneer amp from the early eighties that's brushed steel that i want to strip and cram my old AMD system in for an HTPC. It's either do that and deal with a bunch of custom work or pick up a cheapie SV24 bundle (that won't perform near as well!) :)

BTW, if you ever want to cram a mobo w/ith an AGP vid card into a slim custom case, I came across thisthis which may come in handy. ;)

I read online that a guy built a duron into a tool box I would imagine that making the ioshield would be difficult to cut out. But its still better than lugging around a 50+ lbs rig. and you could prob put a fan on top

those are some pretty nice cases...for some reason, i never considered that for a htpc. shoulda though, they're basically rack cases (which my friend bought one of for himself... very weird, nice, but weird)
