Ok so we live in a town home type neighborhood. Houses are stuck to eachother. There's only 2 types of houses, 2 garage and 1 garage. Since my grandparents might be coming from EU one day we bought the 1 garage but with the extra room. So there's space for 1 car, 1 in the driveway. However I grew up and once I bought a car, now I got nowhere else to park but right infront of our driveway on the street. It's not bothering traffic, no one has complained, and other people have that same situation in the neighborhood.

Now we get these stickers, and they say my car will be towed starting december 1st. Since i'm not allowed to have my car on the street, not even parked in the driveway. What the??

Where am I supposed to park then? There are no alternatives for us.

I live in Georgia btw (for those of you dealing with law)

Please help me out. My mom is freaking out. Who do we contact? What do we do? We sent emails, letters, tried to talk to the agency or w/e it is that is telling us they will tow.

Is it a public street? If so, I think you can park there no matter what they say.

I dont know. There's a road up the street. Then this is like a suburbian complex street with houses on both sides.

Are you in a development or something?

Is there a state law stating you can't part on teh street?

What a retarded covenant/law, especially for Georgia.
In NH we have that law in the winter so that the streets can be plowed. But there's no snow in Georgia.

Check your covenant. There's probably a rule against parking in the street over night.

My neighborhood has that rule. The reasoning is, of course, cars parked in the street hurts home values.

If its a place you drive into, then it would be similar to an apartment complex's parking lot. Their land, their rules. But if its a public street, you have every right to park there.

Park in the Garage or something.

Move out.

Not much of a choice.

Wonder if they make double decker driveways?

Build and underground parking area, like that guy with all the Lambos.

See if they like massive construction better.

Only thing you can do is vote on the home owners association rules and/or run for election. You're in HOA hell and you can't park on the street. It...ya know...hurts property values.

Welcome to the ignorant signing an agreement they don't intend to keep.

There are many of them now crying over their mortgages saying they didn't know what they were really signing.

I choose to give up a new home and pay a bit more even to get a non-HOA neighborhood that was decent.

No one is forced to live in an HOA.

Yea real smart jackass. When you're new to a country and barely know any english right? And cause a car in the driveway or street is sooooooo horrible they should tow and cause problems and money. Shit's prolly not even like this in the north. People from NY go crazy when they hear some of the stuff down here. It's like I'm living in damn socialism (which we tried to escape) guess not. Damnit America, give me my money and let me get out of here.

You signed the contract, you agreed to the terms. Now shut the fuck up or move out.

Actually, a number of towns/cities in MA do not allow overnight parking on the street. No HOA, town/city law.

Either move, change the bylaw, park(even if it's far away) where you won't get towed or sell your car.

Still, the scams pulled are ridiculous. Especially when you have no alternative. Kind of like when Allstate fucked us after the accident. When you look at it this country is more conservative and socialist than ever. And i know what comes next: "If you think so the gtfo".. don't worry, I will.
