High end Mustang performance in a 4 door RWD sedan...or wagon with BMW build quality and you have your choice of 290kw Quad cam V8, 270kw Turbo Inline 6 or a 190kw base Inline 6....what more could any family man want?
probably the same reason ford doesn't sell their euro-spec front drivers here: no one is paying more (or even the same) for a ford than a toyota of the same size.
the base falcon is US$27,300. the most spec'ed out ford sedan you can buy today costs that much.
i'm also guessing that with an overhaul due in the near future, it wouldn't make sense for ford to import the things, sell them here, and then have a completely new bodystyle a year into it.
if i were in charge of ford, in addition to bringing over the front drivers from europe for mercury, i'd bring over the rear drivers from australia for lincoln. once the styling is fixed, that is.
