The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I got the ultimate guide or whatever it is called that has all 6 stories in it. Just read the first story, which the movie is based on. I am actually looking forward to this movie now. I just hope it lives up to my expectations.

The only thing bad abotu the book is the grammar at times was hard to follow since it's written bya british person (I think it was british anyways).

Thoughts?

Yes, I'm 29. I just read it now. Thank you. I only heard of the books this year and I read my first book for my own enjoyment(not assigned) ever about a year ago, at 28.

I don't know if it's fair to say that the movie was based on the book since (iirc) the radio dramas came first and none of the adaptations are exactly alike.

The intro to "The Ultimate Guide" clears up what is "the facts"

Ya, I know. I'm not proud of it, but when teachers push books on you all your life, it kinda turns you off.

Ender's Game

:thumbsup:Great book, but a lot different than THGTTG. I somehow lost my copy that had all of the hitchhiker's books in one 🙁. I think one of my friends stole it :frown:

There's a free BBC audio dramatized version available too, definitly helps with the names and it's really good.

Source?

hm I can't seem to find it atm, I know it was a legal recording by the BBC done many years ago.

waht was the 6th book? i have a5 book compilation form the late 80s i think.

Yioung Zaphod Plays It SAafe.

only 20 pages or so.

This might be the last book I was told about that was only started when the author died.

Young Zaphod Plays it Safe dates back to sometime in the 80's. It was added into The Salmon of Doubt to pad it out.

I'm reading it now as well. I'm currently half way through Life, the Universe, and Everything.

*spoiler*
The answer is 42.

Mostly Harmless. It kinda sucked.

Edit: well, we ought to hit refresh before we post in a thread we have had sitting open for 10 minutes, now shouldn't we 😱
