not that I'm a fanboy of the series, though I did enjoy it very much, it's just like... how can you fvck up every single thing that's in the book? I mean... did you read it? It's all clearly printed how the script should go....

It's always been on my "to read" list. WTH is it about anyway? From the movie ads it looks like a jedi-less Star Wars.

don't ever see the movie, it's literally thrown together with no fvcking thought whatsoever and furthermore set up for more sequels, only to have the rest of the series sh!t on by disney.

Even from the previws it looked like they ruined Hitchiker's Guide.

Another example...

My friend worked on the special effects for that movie. I loved that book, and never got around to seeing the movie (so no opinions could slip out during conversations)

I never read the book. I throughly enjoyed the movie. I have seen it twice and I liked it even more the second time.

I'm a big fan of Douglas Adams and the HHGTTG series in particular, and I thought it was pretty good. I don't get why you would expect the movie to be exactly the same as the book when the book was different than the original radio series, and the TV series was different than that. Douglas Adams had a fair hand in writing the script for the movie as well.

Never read the books, thought the movie was ho-hum. Not good, but not awful either. I had that stupid dolphin song stuck in my head all day after that.

 exactly.. lousy fanboys

and I hate disney more than anyone I know, but this is the second book translation (holes being the first) that I absolutely loved, namely because both times the author themselves wrote the screenplay. while I agree it was not as good as it COULD HAVE BEEN, it was still excellent. but then again everybody has to hate something...
