I wish we would hurry up and run out already. This whole price up and down crap is annoying. Enough with the impending doom already! Bring it on!

Bush got re-elected.

/thread

Don't be a flame starter. If Kerry has been elected, he'd have drained our reserves with little effect on prices, then prices would have jumped to $4 while we remained vulnerable with a lack of reserves.

I find it interesting that you open with that statement, and then follow with the same kind of crap.

😀

😱

🙁

Mill, have you noticed how your car isn't running well lately? That's because I put about 20 lbs of sugar in those gas tanks (and each one got another 4 gallons of concrete de-greaser, which does a wonderful job of breaking down the gasoline). I hate people who try to break the rules and do the sort of crap you're doing.

I paid $2.119 last night to fill up.
Supposedly OPEC is cutting production but it's quite possible they really just can't keep up with demand anymore and don't want people to know the oil is starting to run out.
It would seem kind of stupid for them not to tell as it would give mankind more time to find alternative fuel sources but then again they could be holding out telling in hopes they have another major oil find.

the Costco about 10 minutes from my house in Clifton NJ is $1.72. No one can compete with them, but you have to be a member to get gas there.
What are they getting for premium? I live close too.

First time I ever seen it over $2 at Costco today ..

$2.09

They're usually $0.10 - $0.20 cheaper than everyone else...

he's buying gasoline in bulk...wtf?

if i had the tanks i'd do it myself...what are you, a communist?

Before, they could pass it off by saying it's the war in Iraq and instability in Venezuela.

Now, I think they've just said "Fvck it, we've got you by the balls and we're robbing you blind."

The greater good of man kind... vs the greater good of the bottom line.

Come on. You've seen enough capitalist rants here and elsewhere (for quick examples, go to P&N) to know that no company the size of the oil conglomerates is going to do a single damned thing to help with an alternative to their product. I wouldn't even put it past them to impede the process whenever possible.

I just found an old gas receipt in my car yesterday. it was from 12/24/2004 and I paid $2.09 per gallon. Now it's $2.79 almost a 50% increase :|

Gas here is about $2.60/gal for regular here..

Funny thing..there is a small village (a hell hole, really, indian reservation), where gas is insanely pricey..I remember back..prolly 10-12 months ago when gas was 2.60 a gal there and it was 1.80 everywhere else...i'd laugh, saying we'd never have to pay that much..not so 😕
