I have just stopped useing Tabacco Products(Dipping). After useing it for the past ten years on and off.
For the past year or so I have become a heavy user sometimes going through a can in a day.
Since the prices are getting out of control, I have decided to stop.

Today has been the longest day I have ever had. I have done nonething but eat food....
Has anyone else stopped useing tabacco products, and if so how long will this last.I am useing the
patches, which to my surprise work very well..........

good luck to. i quit smoking about a month and a half ago. well worth the suffering cause now i dont have the nasty habit and i have extra money now too

Yes I know what you mean, the extra money will be nice. After paying up to $9.54 a can I need to stop.
No reason why I should make the company richer.......

Congratulations, good luck, and stick with it!

I quit my 20 year Copenhagen habit 17 months ago and couldn't be happier. I couldn't even imagine bringing that monkey back into my life. I was a very heavy user, sometimes a whole log a week. I walked away cold turkey with no patch or anything so I know you can do it too. It is a matter of will. I tried quiting many times before but my heart was never in it because it was always someone else pressuring me to quit. Once you make the decision to change your life for yourself then there is nothing you can't accomplish.

At first it is really hard, but the cravings do subside. It takes anywhere form 4-7 days to to get past that "feeling". Once your body starts to adjust to a nicotine free existance things will be much easier. You have more control over the mental aspect of breaking this habit so as long as youare committed and serios you will be fine and start to feel more normal in about a week. If you are on vacation then you might try to sleep as much as possible, it worked fro me to get over the physical addiction.

I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!!

You have my support and best wishes.

Good luck man, I hope you can do it.

I've been a smoker myself for the last 5 years and I'm hoping to quit with the patch as my new years resolution. From what I've seen (my roomates quit before, also one of my coworkers) when you go on the patch it'll be about a week before the cravings subside, but thats about it. After the first week you'll not ever crave again (unless you're drinkin, and then you wont be in any condition to go out and buy them anyways). Thats my goal, and January 1st is when I try to quit for good. I'm going out to buy my box of patches here sometime this week.
