Yes, most people would have said they wouldn’t shed any tears not many. Which implies he would have been saddened just a little, that this “kid” had his life ruined.
He’s unknowingly playing the white privilege card for the “kid”. I was merely and apparently unsuccessfully, pointing that out.
We can do a quick anecdotal test of this by finding anyone on this sub forum who has ever said they believe the law should go easy on a black “kid” and not ruin his whole life who committed a crime. Hell, describing him as a kid, with no one even questioning the adjective is another example of white privilege.
Do you understand my post now?

I just think you are a lot more conservative than you think you are

I understand that you still refuse to notice that the very cops you are OK with shooting people were also among the attackers of the Capitol, or to consider what that means.
I just think you are a lot more conservative than you think you are.

So you are just going to continue with your straw man. Cool.
I think you're all being a bunch of fargin bastiges.
( Ducks the first rotten tomato)
😉
Also why are you avoiding answering here? That's what trolls do.
I should mention I have skipped the last few pages of this thread.
Actually, Trolls more frequently ask loaded questions that take all of 3 seconds to ask but take 10 minutes to provide a nuanced answer.
The idea being to drive well intentional people into the ground so they do not have the time to counter said Trolls trolling elsewhere. It is very effective.
Yeah, it should've never been allowed to happen. But once it was happening, I'd have no issue if they were shot enmass to protect the capitol. This was a coup attempt, not vandalism or speech.Well there we disagree. They could certainly have been stopped without having to gun down any of them. If only the effort had been made to do so. Very little such effort was made, however, because many of those in charge saw the attackers as their own kind (race being a big part, but not quite all, of that).
You certainly DO appear that way.

Time for a split-finger fastball of durian! 😀
Probably for the same reason why you get upset from people pointing out your proclivity to white privilege.
Perhaps word it that way the FIRST time moving forward? 😉
And YES ... I would say the EXACT same thing (and have) regardless of the kid in questions race.
The problem with your posts above has A LOT more to do with the chip on your shoulder than anything else.
By the tone of his posts he really does READ like a Trumper! (pretty sure he's not though?)
😵
Chunks of half-rotted Durian? 😛
*(perhaps more effective minus said tin?)
You have no idea how many times I've seen that line used to justify inadequate consequences for actions.but don't ruin the kids life.

Sure it does. You're suggesting a lesser punishment for the crime because otherwise it might 'ruin the kids life' (as though he didn't do that to himself). He's a grown-ass adult.Oh no doubt. 🙂
Of course much like a coin-flip is still 50/50 on the 76th toss even after landing on "heads" 75 times in a row, that has exactly nothing to do with this individual case.

So what exactly is the point here?
You're arguing that young, inexperienced people should be judged the same way as those with literally decades of life-experience? That makes sense to you?!?
How would you feel if this were your son? (I'm glad none of you people are judges)
Yes. At 18, a person SHOULD be able to make reasonable choices...after all...we allow them to vote And servemin the military...right?
Should? Okay I can accept that.
Ignores the reality of most 18 year-olds in 2021 though.
I mean, most of those people have zero experience with overthrowing a country, and by 18, he should have had plenty of experience with cause and effect, and actions and consequences, so yeah.So what exactly is the point here?

I'm getting the distinct impression that you folks don't actually know many 18 year olds ... most kids that age are only "grown ass adults" in their mind. (its more like 25)
You have no idea how many times I've seen that line used to justify inadequate consequences for actions.
I knew at 18 to not attempt an insurrection
So you are just going to continue with your straw man. Cool.
So you are just going to continue posturing left while being in reality on the right. Cool.
Yeah, that's a problem too. Almost like there should be something in between incarceration and 'absolutely nothing'.And yet the US continues to depend on mass incarceration in order to function at all.
