Would seem his career hasn't been going too well lately. He was kicked off Bob’s Burgers in Dec 2021 because of his participation in the riot and he had a public defender at his arrest hearing. Ahh... So sad. 🙄

Well now, MSNBC is playing a video of Mike Fanone testifying before the Jan. 6 committee what vicious abuse was dealt out by that man to him.
Oh yea, and the moron yelled "Trump won" as he was dragged out of the courtroom after sentencing.

Rodriguez is scum, and he's not sorry for his actions like he and his lawyers claimed. He's probably sorry he has to atone for his actions, but he's not sorry for the actions themselves. Fascists like him would perform the same actions again if given the chance.

It would have been hilarious if the judge had said something like..."Wait a minute. In spite of your attorney's claim that you feel remorse for what you did, you manage an outburst like that...let's double the sentence."

I was in court awaiting sentencing once upon a time...the guy before me had been sentenced to "not more than 10 years in prison." He told the judge, "You're awfully free with my time, your honor." The judge replied, "You're right, Mr.<name>. Let's make it 20 years."

Wow!

Must have been some very very serious crime for 10-20 years.

Must have been a very very stupid criminal to mouth off at the judge.

Wow. I get the idea of making someone responsible for their attitude and words, especially in a situation like sentencing on a charge...but that sounds like it crosses the line into spiteful vengeance in response to what I'd consider a simple contempt of court.

The judge gets salty that someone was disrespectful of him/the court, and doubles a sentence like that. That isn't unbiased, it's taking slights personally to the Nth degree. Seems like abuse of power IMHO.

And I don't think it's that unusual, sadly. Some judges believe they are gods (of the justice system, if not more), and act like it in their respective courtrooms.

You should watch one of the court shows for a hoot then.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Contempt of court isn't a good thing and needs to be discouraged but how on earth would it be acceptable to essentially make mouthing off to the judge punished to the same degree as the original crime, and moreover, that extra punishment being 10 more years. Like if you want to toss him in jail for a night or two fine, but 10 years is insane.

Right. A moment of stupidity and disrespect of authority becomes authority turning authoritarian and punishing him with 10 years for a few words spoken in frustration/anger. The moment you've been sentenced, you no longer are entitled to freedom of speech.

The demand for respect and decor turned ugly. Seems ridiculous.

As I remember it...(it was 50 years ago) the judge had cut him a break on his sentencing...until he mouthed off.

The thing that bothered me...he pissed the judge off pretty badly...and I was up next. 😵 Fortunately for me, (well, sort of) the judge didn't hold the other guy's actions against me...just my own. He COULD have sentenced me to 10 years...but instead, only 1 year in the county jail (with time served) and probation. He had been a B-24 pilot in WWII and cut a recently mustered out Marine a BIG break...with the warning that "If I EVER see you in my court again, you'll go away for the full sentence."

That would make a little more sense, and make the dumbass going away just that much dumber. Get cut a break and instead of saying thank you, saying fuck you. Yeah...mighta deserved it, lol.

Oh yeah, they are starting up already. I guess the guilt and remorse thing was short lived.
When Trump loses again in 2024, they'll all be back. Those who can get released, they'll be right back storming the capitol or wherever Trump orders them to storm.

And just watch this upcoming election cycle. When Trump is chosen as the nominee, all of these other republican candidates will be kissing Trump's ass. That includes Chris Christie, Mike Pence, and every damn one of them. Despite what they may say now, they still have plenty of that Trump love in them.

Well, you got Kari Lake basically living at Mar-A-Lago, so that’s a start.

Why she’s always there is debatable..some claim she’s trying to weasel Trump’s VP slot whilst others think she’s trying out for Melanie replacement.

Another one of the "patriots" arrested. This one's a real doozy.

Taylor Taranto had an arrest warrant out for his participation in Jan 6 activities. He was arrested yesterday in Obama's residential neighborhood carrying firearms and materials to make Molotov cocktails in his van. He had said on a livestream that he had detonators.

He's also being sued for participation in the attack against the officer who died.

Just a patriot doncha know.

One more taken care of.

Proud Boys member James Robert Elliot sentenced to 37 months. Was charged with 6 federal counts and pled guilty to one count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers.

Good, gone thru the next election

This one keeps getting better. He went to that neighborhood because Trump posted on Truth Social the address as being Obama's home address. Taranto reposted it saying "‘We got these losers surrounded! See you in hell, Podesta’s and Obama’s, and then he went there with a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield” and a “Ceska 9mm CZ Scorpion E3 and hundreds of rounds of nine-millimeter ammunition.

But Trump doesn't think he's responsible for any inciting.

That certainly seems like it would make a good case for inciting, is it not?
