He sold his house to use that as betting money. He obviously wasn't to attached to his current belongings.

He did not have a house. He rented a place but he sold everything he had to come up with the £80k or so to make $135k or so to start his bet.

fvckin balls, brass fvckin balls.

Indeed he has!

He was guty and could have lost it all and that would have been that. He was crazy but hey he made double.

The publicity was a lot but a few of the other Casinos turned down the offer. What in the world were they thinking? I'm sure they take more then that in a few hrs in busy hrs...

Koing

he should eat sh!t and die.

I disagree, even if I don't believe this deserved anywhere near the publicity it got. He chose to risk it all, and won, against near even odds. To this all I can say is a big "so what?"

Yeah, the odds part doesn't make it that fascinating.
I think it's the fact that he sold EVERYTHING, even his clothes, to put into his bet. If he lost he would have been ruined. Well, he could have gone and lived with his parents, but yeah.

Revell, recently a professional gambler, said he decided to take a big plunge while he was still young and had raised the stakes as high as possible, including selling his clothes.

By putting everything he had on one bet, he's labeled a "professional gambler." Ha!

I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that it was not fixed.
Huh? Ten... a hundred... a thousand... ten thousand!?!

In roulette, if you're a really good croupier, you can make the ball land where he wants to. My friend's done it before. Of course, it is illegal.

This is probably the biggest LIE that I have ever read on this or any other forum, if you believe this you are really in trouble.

No kidding, I am also surprised that The Plaza took the wager.

He bet his life...won, and only tipped $600. What an (_|_) 😛

WTF...the dealer helped him how ??? by pushing a button and got the wheel spinning ??
What if he had lost, is the dealer gonna tip him ???
Sh!t, $600 is more than generous.
It would be different if it was a millionaire winning $270K and tipping $600. Even that $600 is better is zilch.

it's not like his chances were terrible... I agree with "so what".

Would you risk everything you own including the clothes off your back for those chances? Didn't think so.
