Whoah, that is pretty close. My 580 SLI is on sale right now, I am just deciding between a 780 or Titan. What do you guys think that will do well in 4K gaming?

and so next gen the halo product will be 1000 bucks or more and the gtx880 will be $650 or more. lol if pc games were not so cheap I would just move on to consoles so as not to even have to worry.

You forgot the to be announced Titan ultra 😛

If it's even a hair above $650 I am not buying. I have shoprunner so I know I can get free 2 day.

I have a BNIB reference MSI 7970 with 4 free games at home. I am not opening it until I see this pricing.

GTX 780 have been reviewed.
Beats 7970GHz by over 20%. RIP AMD. RIP Titan owners.
This badboy will sell like hotcakes.

GTX 780 is 8% slower than GTX Titan

GTX 780 is 22% faster than 7970GHz

And it consumes the same power as 7970GHz. LOL 😀

At $650-700 I'd risk 7950 crossfire for less and just use one card in the games with stutter. The prototype which was shown to fix crossfire will be out soon etc. Even with a single card you'd probably only lose 25-30% (going off the around 20% over 7970Ghz). With both cards in action it'd smoke this.

Man they are out to fleece their loyal fanbois.

Yeah, "loyal fanbois". Coming from a guy who is defending AMD's behaviour.
But we know: AMD was not resonsible for the price increase last year and for taking a break until Q4.

Show me a single post where I defend $550 7970? The only thing good about it was the 2 year old 580 was still going for an absurd $450-550 at the time.

I've also said AMD is sitting on their thumbs and I am surprised they are just sitting idle. I don't excuse their absence. The only thing we get is crap like the 780 pricing for that.

Until we see strong competition from AMD NV will continue this trend.I remember 570 dropping six months later for cheap compared to 480.Also 580 was ~15% faster than 480 but cost same.

Works fine for me.
If someone has to chip in for my GTX 760/Ti, I'd rather that to be haves, than have nots

Props to NV for being socially progressive ^_^ ()🙂

You do realize your 760 is the 660 renamed to 670 and now 760? Enjoy the premiums. I can't take you seriously if you willingly pay more for nothing/marketing.

Agreed 100%. AMD's failure to have anything remotely close to being able to compete with Nvidia's big die has allowed Nvidia to run rampant with sky high prices. My time as a enthusiast-type PC gamer may be coming to an end rather quickly. 28nm started off with such a disappointing card from AMD, priced high and only beating the 13 month old gtx580 by 20%, and now it ends with a true gtx580 replacement coming in at an outrageous $150-200 more than what the gtx580 started at.
