YOU were the one that brought up the size of the damn gpu. I simply said that it was very efficient for its size. now you keep saying who cares about anything else? well who the hell cares about the size or number of transistors?

Yes because the size of the GPU is the problem.

It offers no real benefit to gamers. Its got a huge price attached to it and hardly any performance benefit. It will run hot and be limited in clock speed for the same reason.

I really dont see Nvidia offering this GPU for £350 like the 680 GTX. Even then its going to be only slightly faster.

I agree with the vRAM configs, unless the new consoles are getting ~5-6Gb of onboard vRAM causing a future spike in vRAM usage in upcoming games I don't see that amount any real use outside of multi-monitor configs.

It would be better to have cheaper cards with lower vRAM and less video connectors, and then have more expensive cards with twice the vRAM and lots of video outputs, maybe 5 as standard.

Who cares?

If the GK110 was made for something else then dont sell it as a gaming GPU.

Who wants to pay supercomputer prices for a gaming chip?

This is the problem with left over parts from other projects. They are not ideal for gamers.

Nvidia sounds like its just cobbling together a rebadge and reject bin GPU lineup for 2013 which it will likely want to sell for top $$$

Why are you so pushy with your opinions? There is absolutely not one single person on this forum that i'm aware of, who is suggesting that Titan has good price / performance. Not one. So I honestly have no idea why you're arguing this point.

It's all about giving the user a choice... Having a choice between 3 or 6GB would be a great idea, and i've already outlined why 5GB is completely unnecessary even with upcoming console ports taken into consideration. So I certainly hope the newest rumors about the GTX 780 being a 3GB 384 bit card are true.

I understand that some want 5-6GB VRAM for surround, and that's cool. But I would love for the user to have a choice, you know? Having a choice between a 3GB 600-650$ card versus an 800$ 5-6GB card. Currently 5-6GB is largely a waste for single screen configurations, and most users are on a single screen. Which is why choice is a beautiful thing, you know?

Some more details about the 7xx series refresh - http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/31286-gtx-760-ti-770-780-detailed

The GTX 760 Ti has a 256-bit memory interface and in reality represents a rebranded GTX 670. It looks dangerously similar to existing GTX 670 boards.

Geforce GTX 770 is based on a somewhat faster GK 104 425 chip, again a 256-bit unit, and our sources are telling us that the card is more or less a GTX 680 renamed for 2013

The fastest of them all, based on the huge GK110 chip is the Geforce GTX 780. The card also shares a 256-bit memory buss and is based on GTX Titan LE.

Hit up the source link for more info
Okay, I can believe the 760 Ti and 770 stuff, but a 256-bit bus for the 780? What?!

The one we don't know the price of?

Im working on price rumours.

But given that the GK104 chip is half the size and costs £380 at launch i cant see the GK110 being the same price.

Even the broken chips are going to be expensive to produce compared to one half its size.

Who knows, maybe Nvidia are sitting on a huge pile of 'broken' chips already.

Thats probably exactly what they have.

They cherry picked out the Titans and sold those off for as much money as they could.

Now they have the leftovers. Maybe they will just sell those off for what ever they can get..

A 256-bit bus would allow the 780 with 2gb and 4gb variants would allow it to be priced at $500-$600. But at the same time, it would borderline ruin the 780 for 2560x gaming.

My guesses, if this 256-bit rumor is true :

256-bit 2gb/4gb GK110 : $500-$600
320-bit 5gb GK110 Titan LE : $800
384-bit 6gb GK100 Titan : $1000

20nm AMD 8970 $499 will beat ALL of them with performance to spare

Because history shows that a new Architecture and a die shrink gives huge performance increases.

Hopefully AMD's driver division does a better job with the new arch this time around than they did with the 7000 release.

Except VI is not a new architecture at all, it is an evolution rather than a revolution.

Its easier to dismiss everyone elses opinions than form one of your own.

GJ!

I'm sorry, I thought everything you said was fact and not opinion. I remember reading that countless times somewhere on here... :whiste:
