"The Grudge" suspenseful

This movie does an effective job of creating suspense without getting gory or terrorizing everybody on screen. At times the pace is slow and the sequences reminiscent of "The Ring." I know I jumped about four times throughout the movie.

Just saw it. 'Twas good sh!t indeed.... I'll proabably have a nightmare tonight, but it's all in good fun.

I was going to see it, but then I decided I would sleep through it (I'm notorious for sleeping during horror movies). I saw Taxi instead. Was a decent movie.

Does this movie have anything to do with the ring? In the previews that girl crawling down the stairs looked like the girl from the ring.

This movie scared the sh!t out of me. I really got into it and let myself just hang on the edge of my seat. It was just like a chain reaction of intense scares, and the format of the movie was quite refreshing opposed to most american movies out lately. I had low expectations going into the movie, so I was deeply impressed when I came out. I guess this is the english remake of the third movie in the Ju-On series, Ju-On:The Grudge. They go in this order:

Ju-On:The Curse
Ju-On:The Curse 2
Ju-On:The Grudge (this is what you basically saw if you saw the english remake)
Ju-On:The Grudge 2

I'm hearing the first two are way more scarier than the third one. I find that hard to believe, and I'm too scared to find out for myself 😛

Almost all Asian Horror has a scary girl with long black hair. It traces back to a demon in Japanease mythology. It has nothing to do with The Ring story wise.

The first two Ju-On are V-Cinema aka Direct to Video in quality. They suffer from the low budget look as they are shot on video, almost like a soap. If you can look past the cheapness, I have to agree and say they are the scariest of the series.

I love a good horror movie, so the video quality definitely won't be a hindrance for me. I'll check them out. Thanks for the heads up!

another good one to watch is from the director of the ring called 'dark waters'
not as many frights and pretty slow but wait til u see the ending

tom cruise bought the remake rights to it already btw

Too much like the ring, which I hated. I did jump a million and one times. Had to get used to SMG playing a wussy character.
