Now this wouldn't be so bad if it was just humans - there are too many bloody humans arround anyway (personally I think everyones tax should go up & extra 5% with every kid they have)
PLEASE tell me you are kidding. Overpopulation is a problem that must be addressed, but certainly not in that manner. The parents already pay taxes on that child anyway. Everytime it goes to buy an ice cream. Every time they buy food for it at the grocery store (Sales Tax). Not to mention if the parents invest money to pay for their college later in life.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more stringent environmental regulations, but shutting down the corporate sector? That is not in the best interest of the United States. Not too far in the future, if we don't increase our GNP, we will no longer be the leader (and that seems a cause of concern to me). I certainly don't want China becoming the new leader in the world (no offense intended). Japan will probably pass us first, however.
I realize there are global concerns, but the fact is you just can't trust every country in the world, and you can't trust the government to take money as much money as it sees fit and give it to someone else to equalize. If the concept alone isn't horrid enough, what about the thousands of bureaucracies that will form as a result? I doubt in the end 50% of what is taken would get to anyone else.
