Nothing smells better than bread baking. Bacon might be tastier when it's done, but bread rules smells.

The air in the static bags of some computer hardware. Sometimes Scotch tape has this same smell.

Our bakery both with cookies and bread too.

Fresh coffee smells good. Coffee grounds in the trash can - like poo! D:

Same with cigarette smoke. Don't mind the smell of smoke at all but the smell of smoke in clothes even 1 minute later is disgusting.

Gasoline smells good near a pumping station.
Gasoline on someone's shoe when the walk in the door - ugh!

My 44 Magnum marker smells excellent. Mmmmm hexane highness!

For the 40+ crowd: freshly run dittos!

Vanilla.
If a beautiful woman is wearing a vanilla-something fragrance, oh my...:hmm:

The smell of pine/spruce, particularly with the clean cold wind in the mountains.

I used to like vanilla too...
When I was a little girl I sneaked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of real vanilla extract. I loved the smell and decided to drink it! D: It tasted worse than the nastiest horehound flavored elixir.

The same can be said about unsweetened chocolate. I think I'd rather try a deep fried turkey cooked with motor oil.

You know, I have to agree with this. Particularly when I was honeymooning in Bora Bora/French Polynesia you could literally SMELL the vanilla just walking around. I actually have nearly a pound of dried vanilla bean powder($$$) from there and just opening the can makes the whole house smell so amazing for hours.

Oh and you've not had vanilla ice cream until they bring the ice cream to your table at the restaurant and scrape fresh vanilla bean onto the top of the ice cream. OMFG

Sounds like heaven :D

Used to because you tried drinking it, or why don't you like it now?
It's one of those flavors/fragrances that's best in moderation i think.

My favorite beer, Innis & Gunn, tends to have a hint of a vanilla...just that little bit, enough to be amazing.

I like horehound hard candy. They were always my favorite of that type, probably because it's kind of rare as a candy flavor anymore.

It just doesn't smell right unless it's fresh. Hard to explain.

Vanilla has nothing on Jasmine though.

The homemade stuff they sell in those "country stores" does have an interesting flavor but it's strange that it leaves an after taste. It reminds me of the fake sweeteners. Nothing like sodium saccharin mind you, but different. When used to flavor cough syrup and elixirs it's just awful.

Oh and how could I forget the way the thread title is worded...

The greatest smell ever is ether. (that's what I read it as originally and would have to agree there.)

Ha ... I did that also. Butt, another aroma comes to mind. (Trying to behave)
