THE GREAT REBATE SCAM ~ for all you "rebaters"

I bought a cell phone from Fry's recently with two separate $50 rebates. I filled out the one that went to the service provider, but they didn't have the one from Fry's. They took my information and said they would send it to me within 4 days. Well just today I got mail from Fry's, it's two copies of the service provider rebate (which I already filled out) and one copy of a Valentine's day promotion not even on the same phone (which has since expired). But I am smart, because I talked to a manager the day I purchased the phone, and he guaranteed my money if they did not send me the right rebate form. So tomorrow I get my $50 cash back at the store, and don't have to wait for the rebate. I have the manager's information and the employee's information that checked me out. If for some reason they refuse to give me the money, Fry's upper management is going to get a nice letter 🙂

I've had good experiences with Staples, Officemax, and Best Buy. I got Office depot's rebate after 6 months and I have NEVER got any rebates from the fvckers at CrapUSA and Frys

funny i always get my rebates, even if i have to call like 5 times (had to do this for the $50 Cendyne DVD-R rebate)

I am still doing battle with Maxell over a stupid rebate that I should have had in Mid-April. I will be filing a complaint wit hthe BBB on Monday if I have not received a check by that time.

So do I, but I am a persistant bastard. I have envelopes with all forms for each rebate I have in addition to using rebate tracker. I also go through every rebate every weekend to see if I need to e-mail/call the company.

I've never received my Maxtor rebate for $30 even though it shows online as valid and "will be" shipped within two weeks. Its been a month and still no rebate.

duh, this isn't new or news

no, but it is a thread we can use to vastly increase our postcount

why would anyone do that?

you need to pick it up, i joined just a couple months before you and have 7X your post count

I've never gotten screwed on a rebate and I do them fairly regularly. Not as much as some people here, definitely, but one or two a month or so. Well, I got screwed once on a $13 rebate, I think it was. And that was my fault for not realizing that I only had 2 weeks from the date of purchase.
