I'll be taking the GRE this summer in order to get into grad school. Anyone here have some advice? Possibly some good books or practice test providers? I never was great at standardized test so I've gotta work my ass off this summer.
The GRE is very straight forward and very computerized. Even the writing section is pretty straight forward. I used this book when I was studying for it and it was extremely helpful:
has been 15 years + but here's what I had used... thats the only book I used along with some Kaplan's practice exam package, not sure if they still have 'em around...
Go to the ETS website. They have (or did in 2002) sample tests that you can take. Do those and either a book or one of the $50 software prep classes. You aren't studying as much as getting comfortable with the test.
Hmm...didn't they get rid of the best section (analytical) and replace it with writing?
I took the GRE's back in 1982. I figure a lot has changed.
I did pretty good I guess. Top 4 percent verbal top 3 percent math.
Surprising, since that is better than I did on the SAT's.
