The Grand Opening FRY'S GF3 TI200 $99 DEAL OVER

I don't have the add but I bought the card. Here's what I got.

White Box:
MSI Nvidia GeForce3 64mb DDR 4X AGP w/TV-Out

$129.99
Rebate -$30.00
-------------------------------
Total $99.99

On the inside I was dissappointed to find a large black passive heatsink. No DVI in this verision. Just the TV-Out. No cables included. The plain 4 page installation guide says nothing about this being an MSI card. And there's a driver disk with "GeForce3 Titanium Windows Drivers" Printed on it.

Printed On the Board:
MS-8851 VER130

Memory:
Elite Mt 0315s -5r
M13L64164A 07E54QD

On my Display Properties it says:
Plug and Play Monitor on NVIDA GeForce3 Ti200 (Compaq Consumer)

They still have plenty in stock in the Industry store. Looks like I gotta by a new Chipset Color for this guy:|

This is a hot deal for another reason. There are people who want quiet, passively cooled, yet high performance video cards. This fits that very well.

How's the MSI compare to the visiontek that's over at gateway? Sweet deal fo rthe single fact that there is now a Fry's about 5min. from me. Woohoo.

<< Aren't OEM's not allowed for the rebate? If that's a white box, where you going to get the UPC ? 😉 >>

The rebate form calls for a OEM card with a UPC code # and Part # that matches the id sticker on the white box. From Optimistic's post, I'd guess these are system pulls from Compaq.

Hey you all,
I got one of these cards yesterday. Im just using a card coolor to increase the cooling of the card and I am able to hit TI500 speeds with it no problems. The memory is only marked as 5ms but it runs fine with the memory clocked at 545Mhz. Think this is one of the best deals on a video card I have ever gotten.

don't know how many people actually use a card cooler now...but they seemed pretty big back then
its basically a fan that hangs vertical in ur case blowing across ur pci or apg cards. u can buy card coolers or u can make a ghetto one
if u want to make one, just get a fan, and use some strings or whatever and hang it on ur case across the cards u want to cool
hope this helps...

<< so where is this fry's??????? >>

In the LA area.. I just came back from there... and it was extremely packed. Got my Seagate 80gb hd ($99 after rebate & tax) and the $0.25 soda & hot dog.. 🙂

First timer! Here goes,

I also bought this card yesterday. Seems like a pretty good deal except for no fan, a heatsink only.

So I bought a Thermaltake "Blue Orb Cooling Fan w/ Heatsink" used cooling for graphics card GPU for only $8.00, seems like cheap insurance for this card to overclock.

Here's a link for review and installation of the cooler.

Go west on the 60 if you are coming from San Bernadino (East if you are coming from LA) right before you hit the 605 (right after you hit the 605 if you coming from LA) you'll see it to your right (left if from LA). Exit off of crossroads pkwy and do a strange loop and you can't miss it. It's kinda tucked in a small corner. I have been waiting for the damn place to open since last year finally it does and I miss the first day sale, urhg!

Is your card cooler exausting air or blowing air onto the card? I've shopped around in my area and found card coolers that only exaust air. Will the exaust model be fine?

Is that passive heatsink held on by those thumb plugs or frag tape? I would rather put some active cooling on it.
