The Grammys

John Mayer, for best male vocal? Really? He should win a Grammy for most nondescript, non-threatening, non-performance of the year. It just sucks that he does have some decent songs, but the only ones that win any awards are the fucking terrible ones.

There was one tense moment though, when the stage nearly collapsed beneath the combined weight of Jay-Z and Kanye West's egos.

John Mayer does suck, but I'm sure you listen to terrible music and have no place criticizing what other people find popular/good.

I dunno, why can't he? Haven't you ever walked out of the movie theater saying "that sucked"? And yet, what gives you the right, or makes it your "place" as you described it, to deliver such criticism? Do you know anything about making movies? Do you have differing tastes with others on what good movies are?

People can have opinions...shit, your whole post points that out by beginning with your own opinion on John Mayer. ze ironing...

Yeah, plus the traffic on ATOT would slow to a crawl if people weren't allowed to post about things that suck.

ahhh you missed the point sir johnjohn. The point is John Mayer sucks, but so does DangerAardvark, so its a great big party of suck!

I'm not saying no one can insult things. Just that DangerAardvark can't because he sucks. I have no reason to think that, but it felt right at the time.

No mention of Coldplay? 😛

The Radiohead & USC band thing was pretty cool.

I walked away from the TV during a commercial and came back right as it finished. That was the only thing I was looking forward to, too.

And I like the song Viva La Vida. Can't help it.

I was also surprised Allison Krauss and Robert Plant won so many awards and I've never heard about it.

I may have to check it out.

I like Coldplay's older stuff. This album was pretty meh. And they dressed like freaking idiots.

Fair enough. 🙂

I am a big Plant fan in his Zepplin days. But now...,

That sucks. I really like AKUS.

God awfull show this year. My signal had a sketchy audio feed and would get often distortion/disruption on it.

Way too slow of a pace of naming the award winners. Most of the acts that played were meh.

It was broadcast on CBS in case you weren't aware, I know the constant "on cbs" messages prior to each commercial break, or the fact you turned your tv to cbs may not have clued you in, so it was nice for them to also have some schmuck from a cbs program introduce each of the performing acts.

Had to turn it off about 90 minutes in, and that was being too generous with my viewing time.

I am thinking it wasn't distortion you were hearing. It was actually crystal clear 🙂

Lol, if it wasn't at it's worse when it was just people talking on the stage (I could barely tell what the hell Plant was saying) I'd agree. 🙂

What I find humorous is people care/watch the grammies/sag/oscars, etc.

I've never understood people's fascination with these industry circle jerks either.

Big mistake putting U2 right at the beginning. That's all I was tuning in to see, and once that was done, I lost interest.

Major WTF on the "duets" of the past years. They sound like absolute ass, and are stupid. Let's jam 2 people from completely different genres together and see how they sound. Effing awful.

The Grammys have been an absolute farce for ages, I haven't watched since I was a kid.

I do enjoy the Oscars for the most part, mainly because I have typically seen most of the nominated movies, I certainly can't say the same for most of the music nominated at the Grammys.
