As long as there is a need to a patriot these heroic men will find a way to leak important information...

On Tuesday, The Intercept, Glenn Greenwald's journalism startup launched with the backing of eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, published a major report on the composition of the U.S. government's terrorist watch list.

According to CNN, this has convinced the U.S. government there is a new leaker within its ranks — a second Edward Snowden-type with access to closely held national security secrets and the intention to make them public.

If the CNN report is true, the U.S. government is convinced the leaks that appeared on The Intercept include information that post-dates whatever Snowden once had access to. It also validates earlier speculation that there is an additional well-positioned leaker of national security secrets.

As U.S. News and World Report recounted in early July, there was abundant evidence that NSA-related leaks appearing in two German newspapers did not seem to come from Snowden's cache of documents. Greenwald responded to the revelations by tweeting that it "seems clear" there's a second leaker within the U.S.' national security apparatus.

Now, that tweet looks like evidence Greenwald is indeed sitting on documents totally independent from the Snowden leaks. The U.S. government reportedly believes this to be the case.

Unknown at the moment is who might be doing the leaking, and how much that person has handed over.

Glenn Greenwald would not comment on the CNN story when reached by Business Insider reporter Hunter Walker, but said "there are definitely more stories based on the Snowden documents coming."

Perhaps Jonathan Pollard has won early release?
He was found with 30 kilos of stolen US government documents. Perhaps some are still out there?

Just a thought....

I think leakers are a lot like school shooters, there's a perception of status. Still waiting for the leaker that says "I contacted the IG anonymously & repeatedly and they neglected to investigate or address my fears."

We do know that, in 2011, the whole government reportedly classified 92,064,862 documents. If accurate and reasonably typical, that means, in the twenty-first century, the NSS has already generated hundreds of millions of documents that could not be read by an American without a security clearance. Of those, thanks to one man (via various journalists), we have had access to a tiny percentage of perhaps 1.7 million of them. Or put another way, you, the voter, the taxpayer, the citizen—in what we still like to think of as a democracy—are automatically excluded from knowing or learning about most of what the national security state does in your name.

What?
You think you should be able to read some of the 92 million documents that the government classifies annually?

What part of shut up and pay your taxes are you having a hard time understanding?

Hope you enjoy your IRS Audit!

Let's hope he can successfully leak those archives, otherwise his time with the government wouldn't be worth anything.

I'm sure an Anti-American country would take him in just like with Snowden.
