The GOP's demographic problems are far bigger than anyone realizes

The recent inauguration really cemented this home for me. The Democratic base is young, vibrant, and growing. There's no way you could have come away from watching that thinking anything else. As much as I hate to say it, image matters. And the Democratic image simply appeals better to all of the major demographics that are fast growing in this country.

The GOP base OTOH is literally shrinking, decaying, and regionalizing itself. They just look so out of step with modern America. 2016 won't even be close. The politics almost don't even matter at this point, the image of the party is just awful and not relatable to vast swaths of Americans. They will not be able to win a national election until major changes are made in this regard.

This seems to be your theme since the election. Are you trying to convince yourself or are you looking to shed light for the GOP, or what?

and they don't seem know it. They would rather focus on juryrigging congressional districts and states rather then getting their positions in line with the times.

The GOP need to ditch the social agenda and focus on the business of running the country. At some point the sheeple will be engorged on the fud coming from the democrats concerning spending and taxes... the fiscal abyss will shock the country back in the right direction and the GOP need to be ready.

and a big portion of that conservative number isn't buying what the GOP is selling. I cant think of a conservative I know that was proud of the GOP field this year.

You can only hold your nose and vote so many times before you just say fuck it.

Surprisingly enough I don't disagree with you.

Sounds good, democrats shouldn't even waste the money campaigning over the next two election cycles. Have you talked with Dean about this money saving strategy?

Conservatives remain the largest ideological group in the U.S.
40% conservative, 35% moderate and only 21% as liberal.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/152021/Conservatives-Remain-Largest-Ideological-Group.aspx

Conservative does not equal GOP.

and surprisingly enough I want a healthy GOP party one that has good ideas and is a good alternative to democrats.

One party is no way to run the country

Here here!!

I wish conservatives would take their party back.

As those young people grow up, mature, learn, and gain wisdom they will start to abandon the Democrats.

The GOP isn't going anywhere. There are far too many brainwashed free market dogmatists and Joe-the-Moronic-Plumber types out there in addition to hordes of Christian Taliban.

Here in Africa election campaigns consist of killing as much of your main rivals supporters as possible or force them to vote for your party. You start in a province where they have strongest support

I disagree that they don't know, they do know it. They know it so well they have to gerry-rig the districts and now are trying to do the same for the prez elections.
