shouldn't someone just write a script to go to each of the 59,049 possible combinations for a 5 letter phrase, dump it to a file, search the text for 0 results found and then drink a beer?

well, there are only 823,543 possible 6 letter permutations from the home keys (excluding semi-colon)

Given that a lot of these seem to just be random combinations (the hits), and given the variation of the combinations that I tried, it seems that 0 hits for some of those 823,543 is rather likely.

How's that? Isn't it 7^6 = 117,649

Yeah, I'm wondering this too.

Home keys, not home row. OP specified home keys, minus semicolon.

What's the point of limiting this to home keys

To stretch the game out. Next week is top row, next week is bottom row. Next week is t,y,g,h,b,n. The the finale is the whole alphabet.

7 letters, but I'm sure there are shorter solutions. I found this one in like 30 seconds.

EDIT: Shit, just noticed the letter p. Hang on.

EDIT: New solution, still 7 letters. dlsflkk

This thread now shows up in Google 🙂

Only 10,077,196 to go.

Oh.. H and G not allowed? I thought it was the row..

Then I guess 279,436 to go.
