I was searching the WayBack Machine, and I clicked on the earliest cached date of Anandtech. I clicked on the BBS and I saw one of my posts on there.

Most of you see my join date as being 1/2005, but that's just this username. I've actually been on the board since 1997, when it was called the BBS and Anand was a regular poster. I'm probably the oldest active member (by join date) on the board, other than Anand.

Sometime this year will be my 10 year anniversary of posting on Anandtech.
 
I recall lurking the old Hot Deals forums around the time it was launched, should have joined then, wouldnt the join date look cool:evil:
 
I wish there was a way to get my old account back, but I don't know if Anandtech keeps records of that.

I used to be Marshall, then along the way I was Zorak, Megashaft 2000, Marshallj25 (?) and now 91TTZ.

I remember that I was working at a motherboard manufacturer at the time, and I was very impressionable with all the new computer hardware coming out. Having landed my first tech job, I was excited. I found his site looking for information on the K6.

I went to COMDEX in the fall of 1997, and I think I tried to see if I could find Anand, but of course I couldn't find him since there were something like 300,000 people there. During the tech boom of the late 90's, it was a euphoric atmosphere, and the turnout was immense. There was such a buzz in the air about computers. I saw the Intel bus with the bunny people dancing in it, I got all kinds of trinkets, it was a lot of fun. I also went to Comdex in the Spring of 1998 and I still have my badge and the T-shirt that the vendors got.

It was a very exciting time.

I've been around the world more times than the lifers' left mouse clicks. 😛 2005 was a wipeout season and now winter's finally putting the hiatus switch on the back burner. Things haven't settled down since 9-11 really but that's ok.

What happened to this place? The Chinaman send a rocket through ATOT? :laugh:

If you wonder why I act the way I do, simply look at your reply to me. You haven't been around as long as I have, you don't know me, yet you boldly claim that I'm a liar. How mature is that? I have to deal with these kids all the time.

If any of the mods can bring up my account info, I used to have a worldnet.att email account. I used to work for QDI, and I still have my badge from Comdex.
