Wonder how much it would cost now to get something like that done nowadays?

One of my grandmas has a picture of her dad hanging upside-down from under the bridge. He worked as a welder during its construction.

I read that a few times before I realized what you meant.

Thought you were saying there's a framed picture, under the bridge somewhere, hanging upside-down.

San Francisco and the surrounding area is really quite striking. I had pretty much the same reaction as you when I saw the Golden Gate for the first time. Oddly enough much like you I went out there for a training class as well the only time I have been there. Got off the plane, grabbed my rental car, dropped my junk off in my hotel room and headed immediately for Yosemite.

You went to SF for training and used the time to go to Yosemite, which is like 4+ hours away??

You people with all your topical, cool, current references; I would have said "I'm surprised they did such a bang-up job fixing the Magneto damage."

I remember the incident a few years back when the giant planet-cracking drill detached from a spacecraft and almost struck the bridge.

If Roland Emmerich was directing, there's no way the drill would have missed.

Yosemite is so wonderful I cannot wait to take my children there when they are old enough to hike it without dying like the 14 people so far this year.

Hopefully, you teach them to stay on the paths and not ignore the warning signs like the three idiots who were washed over the falls a month ago.

You've fallen behind - not only did Magneto fix the last round of damage it got, he saved it during an earthquake.

No kidding, my wife and I went in late April and the water was so fast there was no way we would go anywhere near the water. Vernell has a fence but Nevada falls which is more dangerous has no fence near the bridge except a lookout spot.

Saw the bridge, made it to Muir Woods and Palace of the Fine Arts. Drove through the Fishermans Wharf, ugh what a tourist trap.

I don't know why but I enjoy seeing the tourist trap, maybe because it is still a part of the city and sometimes the tourist trap is worth the visit.
