Given that trance is beginning to fall by the wayside, I thought I'd post a few tracks that take me back to the rammed 2am dancefloors of 1998-2000, happy people all around ;)

Airscape - L'Esperanza (awesome, impossibly hard to find. Tiesto remix is okay, Club Mix is better. This one defines high-energy)
Delerium - Silence (Tiesto or Airscape remix)
Transa - Supernova
Iio - Smooth (Sometimes labelled Io)
Lucid - I Can't Help Myself (awesome, utterly awesome. Vocal Remix of 8mins is best)
Armin van Burrn - Communication (old, sometimes labelled just Armin)
Atlantis - Fiji
Blank & Jones - Cream
Brainchild - Symmetry C (Lange Breakbeat Mix)
Carl Cox - Phuture 2000
Dumonde - Tomorrow (Lange remix is best)
Hi-Gate - Pitchin'
Lustral - Everytime (Mike Koglin remix)
Mario Piu - Communication (this one is annoying after a while, but it was HUGE in the clubs. Just listened to it again, and yeah, it's annoying. The proper, club-played version is never labelled as such and therefore all the versions you can find are terrible)
Matt Darey - Beautiful
Sundance - Won't Let This Feeling Go (excellent track, truly excellent)
Xstasia - Sweetness (again, very rare...)
Delerium - Heaven's Earth (not quite as good as Silence, but still great. Possibly even more energy that L'Esperanza)

Add away, folks :)
Remember, decent high-energy trance only please. No funky nonsense. Bear in mind that not all the above tracks are dancefloor fillers, but they are good to just listen to while driving or something.

Never forget Sasha's Xpander, but is this limited to just what is "club-playable" or all around trance?

Club-playable mostly, but yeah, Xpander's good :)
Basically, anything high-energy.

Delirium - Silence
PMT - Gyromancer
Brancaccio and Aisher - Darker
Oakenfold - Live from Home @ Space, Ibiza (Essential Mix)
Amoebaassassin - Piledriver
Ascension - Someone
Agnelli and Nelson - El Nino

ETC ETC ETC. :p

I mostly like every one of Oakenfold's EM's from 1999. Throw in some Deep Dish, Sasha, Digweed, Nick Warren...

I found my oldest Trance tape from 95" a few months ago, still some of the best stuff and I wish I knew who it was.

Yeah I still bust EM's every once in awhile. Just not at the computer as much anymore so it's become a lot harder to sit and listen.

Binary Finary - 1999
System F - Out Of The Blue (is this within that time period?)

Yup.

Armin van Buuren just did an oldies hour in the second half of 252. I'm listening to it now.

(OT) A new fav that has popped up is the Ultra remix of Karen Overton - Your Loving Arms (Markus Schulz vs Elevation intro mix).

Edit: and anyhow I dont' think it is failing. ASOT still has a show every other week or so I'd say with only 3-4 songs I don't like.

Check out Above & Beyond's Trance Around The World show, I actually like it better than AvB's ASOT.

Great thanks now I have to get every single of those alongside my complete ASOT to feel accomplished and to be able to sleep at night.

Not the 98" remix but close enough.

Alright now the best Trance complination of the 90's, my vote

Kimball Collins: Session One

Everything on the album except the intro is a classic including his K.I project with DJ Icey.

Any chance that someone can assemble and publish a torrent of these titles/mixes for someone interested in being introduced to the genre?

only if we wanted a vacation :)

nah seriously, most of these albums are a buck or two on Ebay including the one I mentioned in my last post; And they are worth it.

EDIT: You can also go HERE and listen to the full albums free using a Real Audio player.

I recommend any of the Kimball Collins albums and the Pascal Dolle Generation Trance 2.

I also HIGHLY recommend Jon Bishop for some good Hard House, although the Global Hardhouse CD only has a sample to listen to instead of the full album.

Thanks, an additional question was going to be if there were any recommended compilation CDs, beyond the one you listed. Time to search half.com ...

Another genre to check out is Drum and Bass, at one time it was all known as Jungle on the East coast but Jungle is now a sub Genre, and even Jungle has it's won sub genres such as Jump Up and Ragga.

There are some fo the best studio mixes there that it ain't funny. Check out pretty much anything although I recommend Black Sun Empire and Raw Full of Illskillz.

I use a MP3 recorder to record the stream and usually have a collection for the road. It' thumpin music, but I like it and it's a nice compliment to some progressive trance. Really 2 different ends of the spectrum, but you just can't always listen to trance.
